VOCs definition

VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) is referred to as volatile organic compounds, including non methane hydrocarbons (alkanes, alkenes, alkynes and aromatic hydrocarbon), oxygen containing organic compounds (aldehyde, ketone, alcohol, ether, halogenated hydrocarbon, etc.) containing nitrogen and sulfur compounds.


VOCs source

It is divided into natural and man-made sources, and the VOCs in air mainly comes from man-made sources. The key industries include industrial coating, packaging printing, oil storage and transportation, petroleum refining and chemical industry. Industry is the key area of VOCs emission, and the emission accounts for more than 50% of the total emissions. VOCs emission in industrial industry has the characteristics of high intensity, high concentration and many kinds of pollutants. Recycling is difficult and costly. It is the focus of VOCs reduction in the industrial field.


VOCs harm

VOCs has a huge impact on human health, toxic, irritating, carcinogenic. It is the key precursor for the formation of PM2.5 and ozone (VOCs emission or contribution of PM2.5 in 20%~30%), which is an important cause of compound air pollution.
