When measuring the gas concentration of Carbon dioxide CO2 and Methane CH4, use the Infrared sensor, here mainly about the working principle of the Infrared gas detector.

From this absorption spectra could be judged the gas type ; measuring the absorption can intensity the gas concentration . Infrared gas detector with a wide range, not only can analyze the gas composition also be suitable for solution components,  high sensitivity, rapid response, continuously online instructions , also could be composed conditioning systems.  For the industrial infrared gas detector, usually consist of two indentical system.

One is a measuring chamber, the other is a reference room. Two chambers by cutting the light panels in a predetermined cycle simultaneously or alternately opening and closing the optical path. After the measurement gas introduced into the test chamber, the test gas having a specific wavelength is absorbed, so that the optical path through the measuring chamber into the receiving chamber of the infrared luminous flux reduction. The higher the gas concentration, the less infrared receiver into the chamber flux; and through the reference room of the flux is constant, also the flux into the infrared receiver chamber is certain.

Therefore, the higher the concentration of the test gas through the measuring chamber and the reference chamber, the greater the difference between the flux. This flux is a certain difference between the amplitude of the vibration period is projected onto the infrared receiver chamber. Receiving chamber with a few microns thick metal thin film divided into two halves, the interior seal has a greater concentration of the gas component measured in the absorption wavelength range can absorb all incident infrared rays, so that the light flux pulsation becomes temperature cycle, and then can make changes according to temperature gas equation is converted to pressure changes, and then use capacitive sensors to detect, after the enlargement process indicates the measured gas concentration. Except capacitive sensors, it can also be used directly to detect an infrared quantum type infrared sensors, and infrared wavelength selection and interference filters with tunable lasers as the light source, the formation of a new all-solid-type infrared gas detector. This detector with only one light source, a measuring chamber, an infrared sensor will be able to complete the measurement of gas concentration. In addition, the use of a filter with a plurality of different wavelengths of the optical disc, then simultaneously are multicomponent gas concentration in the measurement of various gases.

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas with the feature of colorless, highly toxic, acidic gas. Moreever, with a special smell of the rotten eggs, it will damage the human sense of smell , even with the low H2S gas concentration. But when the hydrogen sulfide (H2S) concentration is higher, will not smell the odor, because of the high H2S concentration will paralysis human nerve. So, if detect this H2S gas with human nose, it will be a fatal method.

H2S is also a kind of two weak acid. When temperature is 20℃, 1 volumes of water can dissolve 2.6 volumes hydrogen sulfide, so formation of a water solution called hydrogen sulfate, concentration is 0.1mol/L.

If mix hydrogen sulfide with air or oxygen at an appropriate ratio(4.3%~46% ), it will explode.

So, in the presence of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) working place should be equipped with the Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas detector, this could detect the gas concentration and people could take some measures to protect human safety.

Ammonia (NH3) gas as a colorless, alkaline gas comprised of Nitrogen and Hydrogen with a strong odor, usually associated with the window cleaner. Ammonia is a natural, biological agent in organisms that help to form the aminoacids, which are the basic building blocks of the proteins. It also involved in the natural decomposition of plant and animal materials. When present in higher concentration, the Ammonia gas is hazardous to workers.

What is the applications of the Ammonia (NH3) gas?

Cleaning chemicals;

Agricultural fertilizer;

Refrigerant gas that has in large part replaced chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs);

Water purification;

Manufacturing plastics and other chemicals;

A building block for pharmaceuticals.

Harm to human

Once released to the environment, the NH3 gas is very quick to attach itself to moisture, such as found in person’s eyes, mouth, throat, lungs and on skins. Ammonia is very caustic, forming ammonium hydroxide that has a higher ph than water and can damage respiratory systems, disrupt the vision and irritate or burn skin upon contact. The caustic action of ammonium hydroxide damages cell membranes, causing more liquid to be released that further interacts with ammonia gas, perpetuating the effects on the human body.

According to the relevant data that people begin to smell the ammonia gas range from the 5~50ppm, in the industry indicated that workers consistently subjected to weak ammonia levels become somewhat desensitized to its presence.

When expose to the Ammonia gas range from 24~50ppm after ten minutes, the nose and throat will have the irritation. If higher NH3 gas concentration of 72~134ppm, the same irritation will occur in about five minutes. For the high NH3 gas concentration of 700ppm, immediate and severe irritation would likely occur. At a concentration of 5000ppm, respiratory spasms and rapid suffocation occurs. At 10000 ppm, pulmonary edema and potentially fatal accumulation of liquid in the lungs would occur.

Gas detector with the Ammonia NH3 sensor

Because of the Ammonia gas with a large range of use, from a refrigerant and fertilizer to being a raw material for many processes, it’s hazardous to the health of nearby workers and the public. Portable gas detector and Fixed gas detector with the ammonia sensor is an invaluable method for businesses to help workers keep an eye on safe work environments and the potential for ammonia gas exposure.

The pure SF6 gas is colorless, odorless and nonflammable. It’s with the stable chemical properties at room temperature and belongs to the inert gas. But in the power industry, because of the SF6 gas is mainly used as insulation and arc extinguishing medium is widely used in high voltage switch and circuit breaker and GIS equipment, in the operation process, while the influence of the arc and corona and spark discharge and partial discharge, higher temperature and other factors, SF6 gas will decompose it decomposition of encounter water will become corrosive electrolyte. In particular, there are some highly toxic compounds, such as the SF4, S2F2, S2F10, SOF2, HF and SO2, which will stimulate the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. If inhaled, it can cause dizziness and pulmonary edema, and even cause the death.

SF6 gas leakage harm

The installation of SF6 high voltage equipment of indoor space is generally closed, once SF6 gas leakage, the air circulation is extremely slow, toxic decomposition in the indoor deposition, not easy eduction, resulting in great danger when the staff enter into the SF6 switch room. Also because of the SF6 gas with the higher proportion than Oxygen, when SF6 gas leakage occurs, the SF6 gas will accumulate in the low layer space, will cause the local hypoxia and makes people suffocating. On the other hand, if the SF6 gas leakage will not be easy to be detected, which also will increase the potential risk of the leakage into the field personnel, seriously threatening the safety and health of people, even causing the malignant accidents.

SF6 gas safe concentration

According to the related research, under the environment existing the pure SF6 gas, if the skin expose to the SF6 gas for 8hours continuously, the human can bear the highest concentration is 1000ppm. If less than this level, will not cause the danger to human.

Protective measures

1. Reduce the SF6 gas emissions amount and increase the gas recovery rate. The SF6 gas in the equipment shall not be discharged into the atmosphere. It should be recovered by the purification device and should be used properly after the treatment is qualified.

2. The workers should not enter into the GIS room at random. When the staff need to enter into the GIS room, the air should be discharged for 20 minutes, and the equipment is not allowed to stay near the explosion proof film. The Oxygen gas and SF6 gas concentration must be measured before entering into the cable trench or low level area.

3. In case of emergency, all ventilation systems should be opened immediately for ventilation. When the explosion rupture of the equipment is occurred, the power should be cut off. SF6 electrical equipment installation should be isolated with the main control room, in order to prevent the gas leakage into the main control room. Equipment installation room should have a good exhaust system, ventilation holes should be installed in the lower part of the room, the bottom should be installed with the SF6 gas detector, connect with the ventilating fan, when the SF6 gas concentration up to the alarm value, the fan will be opened to decrease the gas concentration.

Recently we have received many inquiry on the CH2O gas detector, so today we want to introduce our CH2O gas detector in detail.

CH2O is the posinous and harmful gas, if low gas content, will cause human of the dizziness, heacache, fatigue etc. If higher concentration, will come out the respiratory dysfunction, liver toxic lesions, cancer etc. So, its very necessary to inspect the CH2O and take some actions to ensure human healthy and safety.

Among of the harmful gas, some are odorous, such as the benzene with the aromatic flavor; CH2O with the pungent taste; of course, also have the gas of colorless and tasteless. If massive chemical material mixed together, it will be hard to distinguish the gas type according to the smell.

The right way and equipment of inspecting the gas is the gas detector, only use the gas detection device, we can clearly know the gas type and gas concentration.

For CH2O gas detector, we provide two kinds of products:

1.       Portable gas detector OC-903: with the imported sensor and internal pump, the quality with good feedback from our customers. The data logger function is the advantage, with the software, the gas detector could storage data of 100000 groups, historic data could be upload to the computer.

2.       Fixed CH2O gas monitor: with the 4~20mA singal output or RS485 singal output, could inspec the CH2O gas concentration continuously.

Combustible gas detector usually used in the oil and chemical industry where existing the combustible gas, including the oil, gas, etc. It could inspect the gas leakage indoor or outdoor, so with the important effect the protect human safety and production safety. If inspection combustible leak under the working place, the gas detector will change the gas singal into the voltage and current singal transmitted to the gas alarm. Then the gas detection will display the low explosion limit concentration value. When people hear the audible-visual alarm, will take some measures to prevent the explosion.

When we purchase the flammable gas monitor, mainly with two kinds of problems: 1. More attention to the combustible gas than toxic gas inspection; 2. More attention to the acute poisoning gas than the chronic poisoning gas type.

Because of the many accident by combustible gas leak, now people have the highest attention to the flammable gas inspection. For every oil and chemical industry plant, the LEL gas detector is necessary. But if only equip the combustible gas monitor is not safe, because the most of VOC also belong to the flammable gas. But LEL gas alarm with the Catalytic combustion working principle, especially for CH4 measuring, not for all combustible gas.

The gas sensor is the core component of the gas detector, it likes the human nose, once find the irritative gas, it will remind of people escaping. So, in order to assure the measurement accuracy, our gas sensor for all gas type used original imported sensor, from Germany or UK, also American. This largely ensure our products with good quality. For the gas detector our company also provide the calibration service every year.

Diffusion sampling O3 gas detector OC-901 and pump-sunction sampling Ozone gas alarm OC-903 with the same working principle, both inspect of the Ozone gas and then transmit the gas concentration into the related data displaying on the detector screen.

But the difference is the sampling:

For OC-901 portable O3 gas detector , it need to be placed in the detecting area, then the Ozone flow into the gas detector with the free flow of the air, the gas alarm will inspect the O3 gas concentration. This testing mode usually will be affected by the environment, such as the temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed, etc. So, it will unavaible for the low pressure gas source. But this advantage is the economic price, for OC-901 gas detector we also install the imported sensor, so the measurement results not bad.

OC-903 portable Ozone gas monitor we have installed the inner pump, it will suck the sampling and then convey the gas to the gas detector to inspect the gas concentration. The features of this pump-sunction gas detector is the quickly response, if in dangerous area, could measure remotely, this is safe for the operation people. This model avaible suitable for the dangerous place, or other with the high demands of the response and pressure, etc.

Pump is the important component of the gas detector, also decide the device working life and stability. This pump designed according to the flow, pressure, power, low sound, working life, ect.

For above two model, both with the original imported electrochemical sensor, with the working life of 3~5 years. If not use the gas detector for a long time, pls place it under the low temperature environments, this will extend it working life.

Gas detector as same as other instruments, calibrated with the relatively method: firstly calibration with the zero gas and standard concentration gas, then get the normal curve and store into the gas detector, when measuring, the gas alarm will transmit the gas concentration into singal and compare with the standard singal, then calculate and will come out the right gas concentration value. So, zero calibration for the gas monitor is the important work. Now on the marketing, some gas detector with the replaceable sensor, but this is not means the one gas monitor could equiped different sensor.

If renewal the gas sensor, will need time to preheat the sensor, also need to calibrate the gas detector again. In addition, we suggest that before using the gas detector, with the standard gas do the response testing is better, this could protect the gas detector.

If measuring in the opening place, such as the workshop, should carry the diffusion sampling gas detector, because it could continuously and real-time to inspect the gas concentration.

Fixed gas detection system include the gas detector and controller system, same working principle with the portable gas detector, but this gas monitor suitable for the long time testing.

Portable gas detector with the purpose of protecting personnel safety, so far, gas detector has been used to many different industries, such as the chemical industry, petroleum, gas station, metallurgy, agriculture, biology pharmaceuticals, power, lab research, etc.

For all environments existing the combustible gas, toxic gas, should equip the gas detector to inspect the gas concentration to assure the safety. Especially in the chemical plant or the internal equipment, with the flammable gas, toxic gas, or the steam, so it is very important to inspect the gas concentration with the audible-visual alarm method.

In chemical plant the portable gas detector mainly used to as the following:

Repair testing: if the equipment replaced, need to inspect the remained harmful gas.

Emergency detection: when the production site come out the abnormal situation or handling the accidents, should inspect the harful gas.

Leakage inspection: detecting the gas leakage for the equipment pipes.

Roving inspection: when check the safety and healthy, should measure the harmful gas.

Safety test: When personnel enter into the dangerous field, or the sewer, cable trench, even the equipment internal, all should to detect the harmful gas firstly.

Phosphine PH3 widely used to pest control in agricultrure, mainly for the application of granary, tobacco and other field need to control the pest. Because the PH3 with the features of colorless, high toxic, also is the flammable gas, so if human inhalation of the PH3 will affect the heart, respiratory system, nervous system, kidney, stomach and liver. Phosphine PH3 gas detector as the important device to measure the gas concentration, with the good stability and economic price.

Now , on the marketing existing different PH3 gas monitor, different price and function, so here our engineer have the following suggestion for the PH3 gas detector:

1.      According to the working place environment: For the granary and tobacco field PH3 gas detecting, the online gas detection system is the better choice. PH3 gas monitor with the LCD screen displaying the each testing parameter, with the audible-visual alarm and relay output. It could inspect the PH3 gas concentration continuously and real-time detecting, once the gas concentration up to the dangerous level it will alarm, also tramsmitt the singal to the control system. For the OC-F05 fixed gas detector with the original imported sensor, with high accuracy and good stability, also respond quickly.

2.      According to the customer demands: For different end users with different requirements and detecting purpose, such as the remained gas inspection, real-time detecting and displaying the gas concentration value, real-time testing and alarming, monitoring the gas concentration, assure the personnel safety, ect. This will need different PH3 gas detector. If just for the PH3 gas leakage detecting, should use the pump-sunction gas detector, this product with the short response time, higher accuracy and resolution, it will easily to find the leakage source. If for the industrial testing or the healthy survey, the need to record the different data, so the data logger function is very necessary. Then, OC-903 portable PH3 gas detector is the best choice, with the original imported sensor, internal pump and data storage function, makes it very popular on the marketing.

Fixed gas monitor should be installed and connected other equipments, so, usually many factors need to be taken into account. Here our engineer summarize some important knowledge for the installation, hope this will be workable for our customers.

The basic principle of the fixed gas detection installation: 1. The mounted position could monitor the every corner of the scene or the any dangerous area; 2. The monitor system could alarm by the visul, audible, etc, also could find the gas leakage source, then personnel could take the following measures: a. Evacuation personnel in the dangerous field, b. Removing the gas leak source, c. Cutting off the power of the workshop or the equipments, d. Turnning on the ventilation system. The gas detector should fixed near the dangerous source. The measurement will be affected by the wind, so should collect the gas singal widely.

Usually the installation position height is very important.

If the gas density smaller than the normal air, the position should be above the leakage source; if the gas density bigger than the air, then need to mounted on the ground, or in the tunnel and geosynclines; if the gas density similar with the air, it will flow with the air, then the installation position should near the working personnel area. But, also existing the special gas. Such as the CO2, under the normal pressure, the density smaller than the air, if released into the air, the temperature will down, this will lead the density rising. When detecting the hypoxia, because the oxygen density smaller than air, then need considering the replacement problem. For example, N2 displace the O2, then the oxygen in the air will be used up, now the installation position will not be the important factor. Meanwhile, the installation position also should not too low and protect from the rain, dust. If cant avoid water and dust, should add the cap.

About the detecting area of each gas detector,  usually about the 10~20 , so the quantity of the gas monitor should be according to the specific area.

Here about the details of the Catalytic combustion sensor, Electrochemical sensor, Infrared sensor. ","

Gas detector is the device for measuring the gas leakage concentration, mainly meaning the portable or handheld gas detector. The working principle is inspection of the gas type in the air with the gas sensor, so the sensor is used to detect the gas type and content. In general, the gas sensor defined by the inspection purpose, all the sensor used to measure the gas type and leavel named the gas sensor. No matter it with the physical method, or chemical method.

Semiconductor Sensor

It use some metal oxide semiconductor materials, under the certain temperature, the conductivity changes with the composition of the ambient gas. For example, the alcohol sensor, it with the principle of using the Tin Dioxide under high temperature with the alcohol gas, the resistance will be a sharp reduction.

Advantages:

It could be effectively used to test: Methane, Ethane, Propane, Butane, Ethanol, Formaldehyde, Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide, Ethylene, etc. It with low cost, suitable for civil gas detection. The following gas sensor is successful: Methane(Natural gas, Biogas), Alcohol, Carbon Monoxide, Hydrogen Sulfide, Ammonia. High quality sensor could used for industrial detection.

Disadvantages:

The stablility is not good, easily affected by the environment; and the output parameter is not certain. So it unavaible for the working place with high inspection demands.

Catalytic Combustion Sensor

It with the principle of on the surface of the platinum resistance preparing the anti high temperature catalyst layer, under the certain temperature, the combustible gas will catalytic combustion on the surface. Then the temperature of platinum resistance will rise, the resistance changes, the change value is the functions of the combustible gas concentration.

Advantage:

It selectively detect the flammable gas, which cannt be burned, the sensor will no respond. Catalytic combustion sensor measure accurate, respond quickly, long working life. Play an important role in combustible gas detection.

Disadvantage:

Most of the organic vapors have toxic effect on the sensor.

Electrochemical Sensor

Some flammable gas or toxic gas with the electrochemical activity, could be electrochemical oxidation or reduction. Using these reactions, we can identify the gas composition and inspect the gas concentration. Electrochemical sensor also could be classified as the following types:

1.      Original battery type gas sensor, with the same principle of the dry battery. But the difference is the battery carbon manganese electrode was replaced by a gas electrode. Take the Oxygen sensor as an example, the oxygen in the cathode is reduced, the electron flow to the anode through the current meter, where the lead metal is oxidized. The magnitude of the current is directly related to the concentration of oxygen. This kind of sensor could used to detect the Oxygen O2, Sulfur Dioxide, Chlorine, etc.

2.      Constant potential electrolysis pool type gas sensor, the sensor for detection of reducing gas is very effective, its principle and primary cell type sensor is not the same, the electrochemical reaction is occurred in the current compulsory, the sensor is a kind of real Coulomb analysis. The sensor has been successfully used in the detection of carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen, ammonia, hydrazine, and other gases. It is the main sensor for the detection of toxic and harmful gases.

3.      Concentration difference cell gas sensor and gas electrochemical activity has on both sides of the electrochemical cell, the spontaneous formation of the concentration difference of electric potential and electromotive force and the size of the gas concentration, the sensor of the successful example is the car with oxygen sensors and solid electrolyte type oxide carbon sensor.

4.      Limiting current type gas sensor with a measurement of the concentration of oxygen sensor using electrochemical pool in the limiting current and carrier concentration related to the principle of preparation of oxygen concentration sensor, oxygen detection for automobile, steel and oxygen concentration detection.

Infrared Sensor

This gas sensor mainly used to detect the Carbon dioxide CO2, Methane CH4.

On the marketing with many different type of coating thickness gauge, so, how to choose the suitable paint thickness gauge? Here our engineer offer the following suggestions with five steps:

1.      Firstly should confirm the about thickness of the coating.

2.      Should assure the base material of the workpiece is metal.

3.      Confirm the metal type of the workpiece base material:

1.      Take one piece of magnet near the workpiece, if sucked, the base material is Magnetic metal, such as the Fe, Co, Ni.

2.      If not sucked, then will be the Non-magnetic metal, such as the Copper, Aluminum.

4. Confirm the coating:

   1. Non-metal coating: such as the paint, powder.

   2. Non-magnetic metal coat, such as the Galvanized, Tin.

5. Choose the coating thickness gauge:

OC-770 can be used for non-destructive coating thickness measurement of non-magnetic coatings, e.g. paint, enamel, chrome on steel, and insulating coatings, e.g. paint and anodizing coatings on non-ferrous metals.

The internal probe can work on both principles, magnetic induction and the eddy currents. The probe can automatically detect the substrates type (Magnetic or not), and calculate the coating thickness and display it fast.

TVOC, the full name is Total Votatile Organic Compound. It is the one of the three most serious organic pollutant in air, the three including the PAHs, Aldehyde compounds and TVOC. VOC is the organic matter under the room temperature the saturation vapor over the 133.32pa, the boiling point between the 50 and 250. Under the normal temperature, it could be existing in the air in the evaporation form. Also with the toxicity, irritation, carcinogenic and special odor, this will affect the skin and mucous membranes, so have harm for the human healthy. TVOC could smell, with stimulate, even for some compounds with the gene toxicity.

What is the harm to human healthy?

At present, it is believed that the VOC will cause the human immune level disorder, also affect the central nervous system function, then will come out the following symptoms: dizziness, headache, drowsiness, weakness, chest tightness, etc; may also have the effect on the digestive system, will feel loss appetite, nausea, etc. If high concentration, will damage the liver and hematopoietic system.

Where the TVOC come from?

Indoor, the TVOC source could be classified as the following four types:

1. Building materials: including the man-made board, foam insulation materials, plastic sheet, etc.

2. Decoration materials: paints, coatings, adhesives, wallpaper, carpet, ect.

3. Articles for daily use: maybe the cosmetics, detergents, and others.

4. Office supplies: mainly refers the ink, photocopiers, typewriters, and other office equipments.

In addition, the domestic fuel and smoking, human waste , outdoor industrial waste gas, automobile exhaust, photochemical pollution, these also are the main factors could affect the indoor TVOC content.

So, monitoring the TVOC concentration is very important, once the level up to the certain value, we need to take some actions to control it.

Some basic principles of gas detector

If you want to understand the gas detector, it is necessary to analyze the variety of the gas detector. Gas detector, based on the detection principle of difference, can be divided into metal oxide semiconductor sensors, catalytic combustion sensor, constant potential electrolysis type gas sensor, galvanic cell type oxygen sensor, infrared sensor, PID photo ionization gas sensor. Let's take a look at the gas detector.

Gas detector principle:

1. metal oxide semiconductor sensor

The metal oxide semiconductor sensor is used to measure the adsorption effect of the gas, the conductivity of the semiconductor is changed, and the alarm circuit is aroused by the comparison of the current change of the process. Because the semiconductor sensor measurement is affected by the situation, the output line is not stable. Metal oxide semiconductor sensor, due to its reaction is very keen, so it is now widely used in the field of measurement of gas leakage phenomenon.

2. catalytic incineration type sensor

Catalytic incineration type sensor is now one of the most widely used test the truth of the combustible gas, exist linear output standard lamp number, secure index, price cheap and other characteristics.

Catalytic combustion sensor adopt the Wheatstone bridge of truth, feel the combustible gas produced in the case of resistance and flameless burning, the temperature of the felt resistance change, break bridge equilibrium, the output stable current signal, and then through the preliminary circuit reduction, stable and reliable numerical ultimate disposal.

3. constant potential electrolysis gas sensor

Fixed potential electrolysis type sensor is a kind of skill now poison field is the most widely applied in this aspect, foreign advanced technology, which are attached to the entrance of such sensors. Fixed structure potential electrolysis type gas sensor made in a plastic cylindrical tank body device, electrode, electrode with the task of reference electrode in the electrolyte between the electrodes is made of porous PTFE, the gap at the top of the package.

4. galvanic cell type oxygen sensor

Galvanic cell type oxygen sensor gap structure:on one side of the plastic container is equipped with the oxygen permeability good, 10 ~ 30 microns thick teflon breathable membrane, in its container inside precious metal electrode negative; and on the other side of the container inside or container department constitute anode to spare.

Oceanus technology professional R & D and production: four gas detection instrument, hydrogen sulfide detector, carbon monoxide detector, methane detector, gas alarm, gas alarm, gas alarm, hydrogen alarm, carbon monoxide alarm, alarm, alarm, ammonia chlorine gas detector, gas detector, toluene detector, chlorine gas detector ozone gas detector, combustible gas alarm controller, combustible gas detector, gas detector and hydrogen cyanide. Using potassium hydroxide, oxygen in the electrolyte through the anode oxidation reduction reactions, the anode metal ionization, release electrons, size and oxygen current is proportional to how much, because all the reactions of metal anode cost, so sensor needs regular replacement.

5. infrared sensor

Infrared sensor application of various elements of a certain length of the receiving principle, the existence of anti toxicity, good response, a large number of hydrocarbons have repercussions. But the structure is complex, the cost is high.

6. PID gas sensor

By affixing the CE marking to a product, a manufacturer declares that the product meets all the legal requirements for CE marking and can be sold throughout the EEA. This also applies to products made in other countries that are sold in the EEA.

There are two main benefits CE marking brings to businesses and consumers within the EEA:

Businesses know that products bearing the CE marking can be traded in the EEA without restrictions.
Consumers enjoy the same level of health, safety, and environmental protection throughout the entire EEA.

CE marking is a part of the EU’s harmonisation legislation, which is mainly managed by Directorate-General for Internal market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs. Hydrogen is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic, flammable and explosive gas, and fluorine, chlorine, oxygen, carbon monoxide and air mixture were in danger of explosion; The mixture of hydrogen and fluorine spontaneous explosion in low temperature and dark environment; When hydrogen mixed with chlorine ratio was 1:1, under light can also be the explosion.Hydrogen is colorless and tasteless, burning flame is transparent, so its presence is not easy to be found in many cases. Usually we add ethyl mercaptan to the hydrogen, so that sensory awareness, and can be paid to the flame color.

Hydrogen non poisonous in on human physiology is inert, but if the increase in hydrogen content in the air will cause hypoxia asphyxia. As with all cryogenic liquids, direct contact with liquid hydrogen will cause frostbite. As with all cryogenic liquids, direct contact with liquid hydrogen will cause frostbite. Mix with air to form an explosive mixture, in case of heat or fire, it will explode. Gas is lighter than air, and when it is used and stored in the room, it is not easy to discharge the flat roof, which will cause the explosion. Hydrogen and fluorine, chlorine, bromine and other halogen will be a violent reaction.

Hydrogen is flammable compressed gas. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Storage temperature should not exceed 30. Away from the fire, heat source. Keep out of direct sunlight. Should be stored separately with oxygen, compressed air, halogen (fluorine, chlorine, bromine), oxidizing agent and so on. Avoid mixed storage and transportation. Storage room lighting, ventilation and other facilities should be explosion-proof type, the switch is located outside the barn, equipped with the appropriate variety and quantity of fire equipment. Can not use easy to produce sparks of mechanical equipment tools. Acceptance should pay attention to the name, note the bottle inspection date, first use the earliest into the warehouse. When handling light light unloading, prevent the cylinder and accessories damaged.

Rapid evacuation leakage pollution area personnel to windward, and to isolate, strictly limit access. Cut off the fire source. Recommended emergency personnel wear self positive pressure respirator, wear protective clothing for firefighters. As far as possible to cut off the source of leakage. Reasonable ventilation, accelerated diffusion. If possible, the leakage of gas with a exhaust fan to the open place or install appropriate nozzle burned. Leak container should be properly treated, repair, inspection and then re-use. Fire extinguishing method: cut off gas source. If you do not immediately cut off the gas source, it is not allowed to extinguish the burning of gas. Water cooling containers, if possible containers from fire to open. Extinguishing agent: fog water, foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder.

As a manufacturer, we are able to promise the quality of products and provide after-sales service.","

The principle of choosing toxic gas and combustible gas detectors in dangerous cargo warehouse:

1.Dangerous cargo warehouse detection of gas mainly including combustible or toxic. Measurement of the type of gas characteristics, the first is to measure the explosion, second is the measurement of toxicity. The so-called measuring explosion is the detection of combustible gases, such as methane, toluene, methanol, acetylene, hydrogen and so on, to prevent the gas remaining in the gas after leakage; Detection of toxic gas is the detection of toxic gases in dangerous places, exceeding the alarm, to avoid poisoning. The range of explosion measurement is 0~100%LEL, the range of detection toxic is 0~ dozens (or hundreds) of PPM, the difference between the two is very large.
There are three kinds of harmful gases in dangerous places:

First, non-toxic (or low toxic) flammable;

Second, non flammable toxic;

Third, flammable toxic.

The former two kinds of situations are easy to determine:

The first test explosion, second testing toxic, if there are third kinds of situations personnel exposure should test toxic, such as no personnel exposure can be measured explosion.

Explosion selection of combustible gas alarm, the choice of toxic gas detection alarm.

2. Clear detection object, select the preferred detector model. Now there is a stick called Lang Ping, there is a spirit called the Chinese women's volleyball team! All the staff in Oceanus are using this kind of persistence, the spirit, the unremitting work. The detector model contains three main contents of the manufacturer, the function index and the detection principle. Carbon dioxide gas detector is one of our company often sell the instruments, but often encounter the customer asked: I detected in indoor concentration is sometimes 500ppm, sometimes can reach about 1200ppm, is this normal? When the gas concentration level up to which value will be harmful for human? The following is for everyone to collate information. Please refer.

The density of carbon dioxide is bigger than air, when carbon dioxide is less when no harm to human body, but it is more than a certain amount will affect the person's breathing, because the carbonate concentration in blood increases, acidity increases and acid poisoning. Carbon dioxide in the air volume fraction of 1%, feeling of tightness, dizziness, palpitation; 4%-5% feel dizzy. More than 6% people died as a result of confusion, gradually stopped breathing.

Because carbon dioxide is heavier than air, so the concentration in the lower parts of the higher. The sinking or artificial dig - hole, if poor ventilation will result in the bottom of the suffocation. The normal content of CO2 is 0.04%, when the concentration of CO2 1% will make people feel stuffy, dizziness, palpitation, reach 4%~5% when people feel headache, dizziness, shortness of breath, and up to 10% of the time, will make the human body function serious confusion, loss of consciousness and unconsciousness, make people stop breathing die. Substances to be avoided: Various metal dusts (e.g., magnesium, zirconium, titanium, aluminum, manganese): when suspended in carbon dioxide, it is easy to ignite and explode. Water: will form carbonic acid.

Inhalation of high concentrations of carbon dioxide will be in the coma and cerebral hypoxia, more than 1% of the carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere in general, people with mild dizziness reaction; when more than 3%, began to appear hard breath; more than 6%, will be severe asphyxia and death.

Carbon dioxide concentration will affect human life and rest, arranged the concentration of carbon dioxide and the human body's physiological responses are as follows:

350 ~ 450ppm: the same normal outdoor environment

350 ~ 1000ppm: the air is fresh, the breath is smooth.

1000 ~ 2000ppm: the feeling of air pollution, and began to feel sleepy.

2000 ~ 5000ppm: feeling headache, drowsiness, sluggish, inability to concentrate, heart rate, mild nausea.

Greater than 5000ppm: may lead to severe hypoxia, resulting in permanent brain damage, coma, and even death.

Those data depended on our CO2 gas detector, include portable type and fixed type. Usually can be used in mining industry, metallurgy, hospital, agriculture, aquaculture, etc. To provide personal safety, detecting the concentration of harmful gas is necessary.

After the purchase of natural gas detector, how to extend the life of the gas detector, the user is more concerned about the problem, let us look at the following:

First of all, pay attention to the maintenance of the system, the factory before passing the gas calibration, please do not replace the device after installation, if the replacement of components, must be re calibrated.

Secondly, the natural gas detector prohibits the impact of high concentrations of gas, which may damage the sensor, but also to avoid the natural gas detector frequent power outages, frequent power failure will lead to the detection of unstable components. The use of the process, to regularly check the gas alarm controller and gas detector work is normal, the inspection cycle at least once every three months.

Another point, natural gas detector should pay attention to prevent moisture, so as not to cause the electronic device with moisture caused by the detection is not exact.

In addition to the use of natural gas detector in accordance with the above matters to pay attention to the use of, but also like we usually buy appliances, it takes a long time to be careful. 1. What’s PID sensor?

PID is the acronym for Photoionization Detection in English.

The basic principle of PID is to use the ultraviolet (VUV) produced by vacuum discharge of inert gas to ionize the gas molecule to be measured. The concentration of the gas to be measured can be obtained by measuring the current intensity produced by the ionized gas.

2. What are the advantages of PID detection method?

1) It has high accuracy and can meet the requirement of quantitative detection of low concentration benzene.

2) Anti-interference is strong, and the common gases (alkanes) in petrochemical industry are not easy to affect them.

3) Cooperate with pump-suction air intake, quick response and quick recovery;

4) It is a non-destructive detector that does not ""burn"" or permanently change the gas to be measured.

3. What is the principle of the PID sensor?

The PID sensor is composed of ultraviolet light source and ion chamber. There are positive and negative electrodes in the ion chamber to form an electric field. Under the excitation of high-energy ultraviolet light source, organic volatile molecules generate negative electrons and positive ions. These ionized particles form current between the electrodes. After amplification and processing by the detector, the current signal is output, and finally the concentration of ppm level is detected.

4. What gases can PID detect?

They are mainly synthetic unsaturated hydrocarbons, macromolecules and long-chain organic compounds.

(1) Organic compounds containing carbon:

Halogenated hydrocarbons, thiohydrocarbons, unsaturated hydrocarbons (such as olefins) and so on.

Aromatics: benzene, toluene, xylene (including o, m, p-xylene), naphthalene, etc.

Alcohols: methyl mercaptan, propylene alcohol, n-butanol, 2-butoxyethanol, etc.

Ketones and aldehydes: acetaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acetone, acrolein, etc.

Amines: dimethylamine, dimethylformamide, etc.

(2) Some carbon-free inorganic gases: ammonia, semiconductor gases (such as arsenic, selenium, bromine, iodine) and so on.

5. What gases can not be detected by PID?

PID cannot detect small molecules and compounds with saturated bonds in most nature.

1) Air (N2, O2, CO2, H2O)

2) Common toxic gases (CO, HCN, SO2)

3) Natural gas (methane, ethane, propane, etc.), hydrogen

4) Acidic gases (HCl, HF, HNO 3)

5) Freon

6) Ozone

7) Radioactive substances, etc.

Just a few days ago, a staff of the Oceanus gas detector at work received a call from a customer. The customer on the phone anxiously asked, ""I see the detector is very dirty, so I washed it with water, and after that the detector can not be open, what should I do?"" After hearing from the customer, the mood at that time was also unable to use words expression.

Oceanus would like to remind you that no matter how dirty the oxygen detector or other detectors are, they can not be washed with water, especially the sensor parts. If the water entry into the sensor, it will be destroy.

Oxygen detector is used to help staff work safely in anoxic closed-loop environment. It can help people react to the air environment of the work site in the first time. When the field air is hypoxic, the instrument will send an alarm signal to remind staff to quickly evacuate the scene to prevent staff from asphyxiating due to hypoxia. Because the construction environment is not fixed, the dirty, messy and dirty environment will inevitably make the instrument dirty. It doesn't matter if the instrument is dirty. Don't wash it in water or with water.

The correct method of cleaning and nursing oxygen detector is: first, slowly clean the dirt on the surface of the instrument with a wet paper towel or a wet cloth twisted to dry water; secondly, if the sensor part of the instrument can be disassembled, remove the filter screen of the sensor part and wash it with water, then re-install it after drying; finally, clean the display screen of the instrument, and do not use too much force in cleaning. Gas, gently wipe back and forth until the screen is clean and bright.

Oceanus as a professional sales company of gas detector, it’s very important to focus on the customer experience. Sometimes customers are not familiar with the detector, when there is something wrong, they have no ideas to solve the problem. Today I will introduce several detector methods about gas detector obstacles.

Obstacle 1: detection of low concentration can not display the data.

Solution:

1), Check whether the pump work, the pump is working, there is a slight vibration, and with the fingers to block the air intake for 2 seconds can feel a significant suction. Then check whether the air inlet of the filter is blocked or the connection is not sealed so that there is no suction.

2), Through the nitrogen calibration zero or in clean air calibration zero, the test after calibration immediately.

3), After calibration zero can not detect the measured gas, the need to restore the factory settings.

4), To restore the factory settings can not be detected after the need to re pass into the nitrogen or clean air in the zero calibration operation, calibration immediately after the completion of testing.

5), Check the sensor connection line has not been damaged or bad contact.

6), The above steps have been done or can not be detected, the need to confirm whether the existing of the measured gas, or the concentration of the measured gas is indeed very low, if it is less than the minimum detection limit of the instrument can not be detected.

Obstacle 2: in the air, no measured gas, but the numerical wave is large or bounce.

Solution:

1), A short time zero point fluctuation range is less than the maximum range of the 1% belong to the normal range, belongs to the normal range in the absence of the measured gas under the condition of long time drift is less than the maximum range of 2%, if beyond the scope of the scene, need to confirm whether there is the gas or air temperature and humidity fluctuations, resulting in numerical stable, general temperature and humidity fluctuations will cause numerical instrument to detect short time fluctuations, after the constant temperature and humidity in the air, numerical will be relatively stable.

2), To confirm whether the instrument of zero calibration or target calibration operation, if there are measured gas occasions zero calibration operation can not detect the low concentration of gas, gas to be detected if there are occasions for the goal point calibration, but the calibration of concentration value and the actual concentration value does not match may cause large fluctuations or numerical NUMERICAL instruments to detect small, these two situations will restore the factory operation can be solved.

3), If it is unable to solve the problem, need to confirm whether the pass into the gas of high concentration or high concentration of the gas shock sensor, if there is a shock sensor, after the instrument electrical aging for 24 hours, the numerical stability is not be broken by impact sensor.

Obstacle 3: inaccurate detection

Solution:

1), Confirm the gas concentration is accurate, sometimes the difference between the theoretical value and the actual value is very large, it is best to pass through the standard gas to verify the accuracy of the instrument, or sent to the third party testing agencies.

2), If the use of sensor measurements over a long period of time, there may be some errors, need to confirm whether the sensor and manufacturers can also continue to use, if the sensor itself is close to life, even when the calibration end can be used normally, but not too long and not normally use, recommend replacing sensor.

Obstacle 4: when the value of 0 or in the air did not reach the alarm value also alarm.

Solution:

1), Check the alarm value is modified.

2), Check the alarm mode, alarm mode is modified.

3), Check the alarm condition is concentration alarm or fault alarm, alarm will appear AL or AH words, and the red indicator light flashes, fault alarm lights and yellow lights.

4), If it is man-made modifications leading to alarm can be solved by restore factory settings, fault alarm need to check whether a short circuit, open circuit, poor contact, sensor fault, or send it back to the factory inspection.

Obstacle 5: unable to communicate with computer.

Solution:

1), Check the equipment address, the address set in the communication software must be consistent with the equipment of the device address.

2), In the computer's hardware - Device Manager - port to check whether the RS485/RS232 converter serial connection. For the USB interface equipment, but also to detect whether the serial port, the port number is correct.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a toxic colorless and odorless gas, with the popularity of private cars and underground garage, which lead to poisoning are also frequently seen in newspapers. In recent years, the state of the underground garage carbon monoxide detection system has begun, ""provisions of article 8.6.3 of the national green building design standards"", ""real-time monitoring and control of underground garage with the concentration of CO with mechanical ventilation"". For carbon monoxide gas detection, how to design and install, is a lot of the design institutes and engineering company has never been involved. The Oceanus from the professional toxic gas detector manufacturers point of view, to explain in detail how to set up underground garage carbon monoxide gas detector.

Harmful and production of carbon monoxide in garages

Carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless, tasteless, inhalation of the human body has great harm. It combines the formation of hemoglobin and carbon monoxide hemoglobin to human hypoxia. The most common symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, such as headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue and weakness, exposure to carbon monoxide may seriously damage the heart and central nervous system, there will be sequelae.

According to the test, the carbon monoxide concentration in the air at 50ppm, healthy adults can withstand 8 hours; to 200ppm, 2 to 3 hours after the health of adults, slight headache and weakness; at 400ppm, healthy adults 1 to 2 hours after 3 hours of forehead pain, life threatening; to 800ppm, healthy adults in 45 minutes in vertigo, nausea, cramps, 2 hours lost consciousness, the death of 2 ~ 3 hours. The production of carbon monoxide in the underground garage is mainly due to the automobile engine, when the engine idling operation, due to the lack of gasoline combustion, will produce a large number of CO exhaust gas.The underground parking lot belongs to the closed environment, vehicle access is more frequent, the exhaust is also not easy to discharge, easy to accumulate a large amount of CO gas, leading to the parking lot was filled with the pungent smell, harm people's health. Therefore, the underground garage, parking lot should be equipped with the delivery, exhaust system, with fresh air replacement.

The purpose of carbon monoxide detection system in underground garage

At present, there are two main purposes of adding carbon monoxide detection system in underground garage:

1, regular exhaust to ensure that the concentration of carbon monoxide in the garage below the level of harm, is a security consideration.

2, according to the concentration of carbon monoxide in the underground garage exhaust, to avoid the high frequency of exhaust energy waste, energy saving.

Oceanus as a professional gas detector supplier to recommend you OC-8000 gas detection controller and OC-F08 carbon monoxide gas monitor combined with the use, to ensure that the concentration of carbon monoxide in a reasonable range.

Ozone is an allotrope of oxygen, its molecular weight containing three oxygen atoms, the molecular formula O3, room temperature is a colorless gas, has a special smell of grass, has strong oxidation ability, poor stability, room temperature can be decomposed into oxygen, usually in the mixed state of thin in the atmosphere. Ozone has strong oxidation characteristics, has been recognized by the world as a broad-spectrum efficient fungicide, its oxidation capacity of more than doubled, and even a few seconds to kill bacteria.

Ozone can be used for disinfection of air and water, so it is widely used in all fields. The ozone technology in our country is gradually mature, and the ozone is gradually known by people, because of its strong disinfection ability, which has been used in various fields:

1 living room, room air purification disinfection field: ozone can kill bacteria and viruses in the air, there is dust, the air is fresh and natural, play to eliminate fatigue, refreshing effect.

2 can be widely used in hotels, hotels, sauna, hospitals, pharmaceutical, food and other industries to wash clothes, public places, toilets, production sites clean.

3 pesticide degradation: can be widely used in the public dining room, fruit and vegetable processing plants, food processing plants, etc., used to remove pesticides, fertilizers, food additives and other harmful substances.

4 water treatment: can be widely used in industrial water, algae, sterilization, aquaculture water sterilization and disease prevention, sewage treatment process of deodorization, decolorization, sterilization and other processes.

5 food preservation: can be widely used in refrigeration plants, food processing plants, livestock slaughter plants and other units in the production and processing of raw materials and finished products storage, preservation, disinfection process.

6 the utility model can be widely used in the dining room and the office dining room of the restaurant, and can be used for sterilizing and disinfecting tableware, fruits and vegetables, as well as sterilization and disinfection of children's toys and objects on the surface.

7 food plants, pharmaceutical plants need to surface of raw materials and other objects on the surface of the flow type immersion sterilization, and the formation of sterile raw material surface (packaging containers can be high concentrations of ozone gas contact disinfection).

8 in the processing of aquatic products, frozen before packaging, through the high concentration ozone water spray sterilization or over-current immersion sterilization, the health indicators of aquatic products to achieve perfect control, avoiding the use of chlorine chloride to bring exceed the standard problem.

9 in the process of liquid food processing (such as drinks, fruit juices, etc.) and the pharmaceutical factory production process, high concentrations of ozone water can be used for pipelines, production equipment and the container to soak and wash, so as to achieve efficient sterilization. The bacterial virus on the surface of pipeline, equipment and container is washed and killed. The utility model has the advantages that no dead ends can be generated, and the harmful substances discharged by the use of other chemical disinfectants can be avoided.

10 sewage treatment, cooling tower water, swimming pool water purification and disinfection, etc..

The application of ozone in the industry a lot, with the use of air, as well as the use of water inside, a variety of places need to be disinfected can be used, then the standard amount of ozone in the air is how much?

According to the safety concentration of Tsinghua University ""ozone technology papers"" is a book about the application of ozone concentration in the safe concentration of air, application concentration, concentration, concentration and application of water environmental perception concentration, classification of excerpts, in order to find in the application. The concentration of ozone is not more than 0.2mg/m3.

Hygienic standard for industrial ozone: International Ozone Association: 0.1 ppm, 10 hours contact us: 0.1 ppm, 8 hours of contact of Germany and France, Japan: 0.1 ppm China: 0.16mg/m3.

The household ozone disinfection cabinet ozone leakage shall not exceed 0.2mg/m3 (1.5 meters away), the concentration of not more than 0.2mg/m3 residual disinfection after one cycle.

The animal experiment showed that the concentration of ozone, starting point for 0.3ppm concentration and toxicity, the ozone in the air can smell that is 0.02 ~ 0.04ppm, according to the test results of ozone on lung function toxicity, put forward 1.5 ~ 2.0ppm to allow the upper limit of ozone concentration. Ministry of health ozone maximum allowable concentration of 0.2mg/m3.

    Air application concentration:

The odor and sterilization air as required, ozone concentration is low, such as 0.5ppm (1mg/m3), and items (surface disinfection germicidal and chemical pollution removal) is required to improve the ozone concentration several times.

The application of the air with oxygen concentration in 1mg/m3 ~ 10mg/m3.

The low temperature, high humidity, good killing effect, especially humidity, relative humidity is less than 45%, ozone to airborne microorganisms almost no killing effect. At 60%, it gradually increased and reached the maximum value at 95%.

The use of ozone disinfection of food processing workshop, 0.5 ~ 1.0ppm of natural bacteria in the air can kill 80%.

The cold storage disinfection requirements ozone concentration of 6 ~ 10ppm, after more than 24 hours of downtime seal base bacteria killing rate of about 90%, fungal killing rate is about 80%.

The in fruit during storage, available in 2 ~ 3ppm of ozone can make mold inhibited the growth of the storage period can be prolonged by one time.

So we use ozone sterilization process, how to control the amount of ozone, to ensure that the standard amount of ozone and safe use? Oceanus science and technology to solve this problem, R & D and production of ozone gas concentration detector, can 24 hours online detection of ozone, ozone monitoring to facilitate the use of ozone dosage, to ensure personal safety and standard dosage of ozone.

ITypes and hazards of harmful gases

1、Ammonia(NH3) and nitrous acid gas

These two gases mainly come from the application of nitrogen fertilizer and organic fertilizer in the soil. Especially in the case of excessive fertilization and soil drought, fertilizer encountered indoor high temperature, it will produce a large number of ammonia decomposition in the short term. When the ammonia concentration was more than 5ppm, some sensitive vegetables, such as cucumber, tomato and so on will be hurt, like boiling water burns first leaves, dried brown; ammonia concentration reached 4%, vegetable seedlings after 24 hours will be dead. The content of nitrite in gases in the air at 2-3ppm, the eggplant, tomato and pepper and other sensitive vegetables suffer symptoms occurred mainly in the leaves near the ground, little harm new leaves, also began to like boiling water burns, due to the subsequent acidification of nitrite, the interveinal gradually turned white, serious when leaving only mesophyll veins, bleaching and die.

2、Carbon monoxide(CO) and sulfur dioxide(SO2)

The greenhouse heating coal, because of incomplete combustion flue or not smooth, tend to produce large amounts of carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide gas. The harm of these two gases can be divided into three types: First is the recessive poisoning, vegetable itself has no visible damage characters, only assimilation function is reduced, the quality, the general has little effect on yield; Second chronic poisoning, gas from the back of the blade stomata invasion, brown spots, in the hole and the surrounding gas the surface is yellow; Third acute poisoning, and nitrite gas hazards similar whitening symptoms.

3、Toxic gas emitted by plastic film

Data show that the concentration of chlorine gas in the air reaches 0.1ppm, 2 hours contact can make the radish suffer concentration reached 0.5-0.8ppm, only need to contact 4 hours can make the most of the vegetables were hurt, the first between the veins appear irregular white or pale brown punctate or massive injury spot, serious when the whole leaf white or even fall off; the concentration of ethylene gas in the protected area reached above 1ppm, the yellow leaf margin between vegetable and leaf, and white until dead. According to the experimental observation, ethylene can make a variety of vegetables have drooping leaves, and has inhibitory effect on tomato seedlings; in the concentration range of 0.1-3ppm, tomato, eggplant and so there will be flowers, buds and young fruit and leaf abnormal shedding. In addition, in the greenhouse when the use of aerosol pesticides excessive, it will cause harm to vegetables.

IIPrevention and control measures

The harmful gas in the greenhouse, not only affects the growth and development of vegetables, but also directly threatens the health of farmers. Therefore, we must actively take measures to prevent and control.

1、Scientific fertilization

The fertilization of greenhouse vegetables, should be high-quality manure, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer increasing, little amount of nitrogen, and adhere to the base fertilizer, topdressing. Topdressing should be strictly in accordance with the principle of ""a few times"" to prevent excessive fertilization. The method of top dressing was made by deep furrow irrigation, and then covered with soil cover.

2、Timely ventilation

Use at higher temperature, open vents, air circulation; even in cloudy or snow, ventilation should be short time at noon, to minimize the harmful gases, reduce air humidity.

3、Reduce toxic gas source

Plastic greenhouse by coal-fired heating, make full combustion of fuel and chimney installation on the fire, harmful gases to the outside.

4、Non toxic plastic film

Do not use plastic film by incorporation of more agents for plastic films.

Oceanus recommends the use of a fixed gas detector in the greenhouse, at any time to detect the concentration of gas to ensure the growth of crops in a suitable environment.

As the saying goes, clothes can make people more beautiful, in fact, the house is the same, when you buy a house, and give it a beautiful coat, can improve the quality of life, living in the house for a long time, re decoration, the old house and get a new life. However, the decoration pollution problem has become a lot of people's heart disease. Today we are going to talk about the decoration process, in addition to formaldehyde we are familiar with, what are the toxic and harmful gases.

In the national standards for the control of indoor environmental pollution in civil buildings, there are several kinds of toxic and harmful gases that must be detected. They are: benzene, formaldehyde, radon, ammonia, TVOC, benzene, radon, which is already a carcinogenic gas. Benzene, radon hazards to the human body and formaldehyde, in recent years there have been reports of benzene poisoning deaths. Therefore, after the renovation of residential toxic and harmful gases must be fully tested. Equal attention to a variety of harmful gases, the formation of indoor pollution.

So where are these toxic and harmful gases released?

It is understood that most of the furniture formaldehyde release cycle is not long, for between two and six months, six months later, formaldehyde furniture, wallpaper, curtains and other release is very low, this time, artificial bonding plate is the major source of pollution, the formaldehyde release cycle for decades.

House decoration is done, how to know whether the indoor air standards, in addition to find a professional air detection company, with the detection of scientific instruments, but also can be judged according to your own physical changes after entering the body. Usually, a good environment can make people feel comfortable, on the other hand, a long time to stay in the contaminated people, there will be a series of physical discomfort, such as colds, fatigue, nausea, dizzy in the morning, decreased immunity, frequent respiratory diseases, allergic reaction probability etc..

The above phenomenon, indicating that poor air condition in the home, the need to take appropriate measures to improve indoor air, window ventilation, green plants are a good choice.

Oceanus is a professional supplier of instruments, we have a wide range of gas detectors, welcome to inquire.

At present, in the kitchen of the hotel or school use the LPG, Natural gas and gas, if the gas leakage will come out two results: Explosion and Poisoning, between this, the explosion with more bad effect.

The gas detection system compose by the gas detector and the gas detection controller, using the cable to connect. The controller should be installed the fire control center, instrument room and charging room, etc, the controller could connect many different gas detector and display the each gas concentration, the connection mode including of the Bus system and Branch system.

The installation of the gas detection system should be according to the related standard, for example, when the detected gas with smaller proportion than the normal air, should be installed far away from the roof with 30~60cm distance, such as the Natural gas detector; when the gas proportion heavier than the normal air, should be installed 30~60cm distance from the ground, such as the LPG gas detector.

More need attention when installation:

1. The distance between two gas monitor should not beyond 15m, it means one gas alarm with the inspection radius of 7.5m.(According to our experience: the effective inspection area is 25 square meter).

2. If the kitchen use the Natural gas, the gas alarm should be installed 1.5m above the leakage source; if use the LPG, the position should be higher 30~60cm than the ground.

3. The gas detection system should not be installed in the following place: corner and similar area not easy air to circulate; or the position will be smoked by the lampblack.

The function of the gas monitor system is when the gas leakage, the gas concentration up to the certain level, it will alarm and the personnel could take auction. At home, when we forget to turn off the gas source, if installed the gas monitor, it will alarm and this will avoid the accident.

In the Kitchen installed the gas detector, the cable with two specification: three-wire and four-wire, this is according to the gas monitor quantity, if the quantity less then 8pc, using the 4~20mA signal output with three-wire, if the quantity less than the 8pc, should use the RS485 signal output with the four-wire cable.

Usually for one piece gas detector, the detected area is 25 square meter, so the gas monitor quantity should be according to the kitchen area.

Think back to the last time you tried to test a flammable gas detector. You're busy, and you want a quick and easy way to test whether the sensor is good. An easy answer is a cigarette lighter, isn't it? Tests can be completed as soon as the gas is ejected rapidly. Isn't it?

If such a test destroys the detector's sensor in the instant of pressing the switch, such a test is very convenient, but it’s so bad for sensor!

If you use a lighter test sensor, you may encounter the following risks:

- Causes the sensor to be unusable

- Influence warranty - carbon is a very serious problem for manufacturers. The manufacturer will not accept the warranty application for breach of procedure.

Why do lighters pose a threat to sensors?

Industrial gas detectors use catalytic combustion sensors to detect a variety of flammable gases and vapors. The sensor consists of a pair of matched beads that react with gas through heating. The sensor operates within the ""Lower explosive limit (LEL)"" range, so it is possible to warn as soon as possible before the gas concentration builds up to the flammable level.

Periodically and irregularly exposed to a high concentration of gas may degrade sensor performance, whereas the lighter will expose the sensor to 100% of the gas volume. Not only that, this exposure cools the sensor beads, causing them to suffer damage. Lighters also leave destructive carbon deposits on the beads, making the sensors unusable and endanger your life.

How to test the sensor safely?

Speed detection! Alternatively, you can use 50% LEL gas to calibrate, but make sure you use the correct gas calibration adapter and adjust the gas flow of the cylinder to 0.5 to 1 litres per minute.

From the interior interior monitoring center of the National Interior Decoration Association, the air pollution in the automobile room is becoming more and more serious. The monitoring center by GB/T1883-202 (national indoor air quality standard) of 50 vehicles traveling less than half of the new cars are formaldehyde, benzene, toluene, xylene, TVOC detected five, 70% concentration of car indoor toxic gas exceed the standard, including two indicators of formaldehyde and TVOC exceed the standard of the most serious.

During the interview, many owners have told reporters that the car has a taste unbearable, the car harmful gas exceeds the standard, more harmful than indoor air inside the house, the greater the degree of harm to the human body. Long time will cause headache, dizziness, nausea, severe cases may lead to anemia and cancer; air pollution can also cause the driver anxiety, inability to concentrate, affecting driving safety, pollution source mainly comes from the new car body itself

1, such as car seats, seat covers, flooring and other materials containing benzene, formaldehyde, acetone, xylene and other harmful substances.

2, from the interior decoration.

3, the car space is narrow, the tightness is better, the human body emissions of carbon dioxide and other harmful substances more and more, but also easy to cause pollution.

The main ingredients of TVOC include

Benzene, organic chloride, freon series, organic ketones, amines, alcohols, ethers, esters, acids and petroleum hydrocarbons etc.. Thus it can be seen that TVOC is harmful to human beings.

However, in real life, many people only know formaldehyde, that air pollution is only formaldehyde, the greatest harm to the human body, this is a big mistake, and especially wrong. In fact, air pollution, in addition to formaldehyde, there are TVOC, benzene, ammonia, etc., if exceeded, then the same will bring harm to the human body, so do not think that air pollution, as long as formaldehyde is not excessive on the line.

So what should we do if we face the big TVOC?

First, to prevent TVOC damage, mainly for furniture, sheet metal, paint after treatment processed decorative materials, leather, cloth, glue coating and other sources of pollution, prevent the damage of TVOC is to start from the source, to environmental protection decoration materials. In addition, heating and baking can also aggravate the release of TVOC.

Second. Ventilate regularly. After renovation, even if the test confirmed that TVOC is not excessive, but also ventilation two to three months after admission, if the conditions, the best new premises cool ventilation, more than half a year for the best.

Third: the harm of daily removal method of TVOC TVOC can only temporarily slow, but similar to activated carbon like except TVOC measures will bring two pollution, therefore, in addition to effective ventilation windows, car needs through the air to the effective use of better governance, in order to avoid.TVOC formaldehyde and other toxic and harmful gases harmful to health.

I. First, we will analyze the harm of ammonia to aquaculture, so that we can understand the importance of ammonia detector accurately.

1. The chicken's harm: ammonia is a toxic, colorless and has a strong pungent odor of gas, can feel the minimum concentration of 5.3ppm. Ammonia water solubility is high (0 degrees 1L water soluble 907g), it is often adsorbed on the chicken skin, mucous membranes and conjunctiva, thereby stimulating it and causing a variety of inflammation. There is information that, when the ammonia concentration was 20ppm the henhouse and lasted for 6 weeks, it will lead to pulmonary congestion and edema of chicken and chickens decreased appetite, laying rate decreased; at 50ppm days after the chicken will lead to occurrence of laryngeal edema, necrotizing bronchitis, pulmonary hemorrhage, respiratory rate decreased, and the emergence of the death of 80ppm; for 2 months can lead to the laying rate by 90%, increased mortality; up to 100ppm, the mortality rate will increase obviously. It can be said that the presence of ammonia has a great threat to the growth of chickens. The concentration of ammonia in the poultry house should be below 20ppm.

2. The harm to pigs:

Ammonia can cause rapid growth and metabolism of mucosal cells, it will cause the need of oxygen and energy increased, while ammonia detoxification process is a highly energy consuming process, therefore for animal growth and production of energy is reduced, thus affecting the growth performance of animal. According to reports the initial concentration of ammonia on livestock impact is 25 g/kg, 100 g/kg and ammonia concentration effects on growth performance is very obvious. In a closed part of the harmful gas in a pigsty that experimental study on growth performance of pigs, 50 g/kgNH3 level and growth efficiency of pigs decreased by 12%; 100 and 150 g/kg levels, growth efficiency decreased by 30%. The results showed that the daily gain decreased with the increase of NH3 concentration in the pig house, and the feed weight ratio increased with the increase of NH3 concentration in the pig house, and at the same time, it could induce other diseases.

II. Several aspects of the main performance of ammonia gas:

Reduce airframe resistance:

Ammonia in piggery inhaled through the respiratory tract, into the blood by alveolar, and hemoglobin, the heme into heme, reduce the oxidation of hemoglobin oxygen carrying capacity, blood alkali storage and heme, resulting in anemia and hypoxia, reduce the body's resistance to disease. Experiments show that, when the ammonia concentration reached 10 ~ 15 g/kg, will significantly reduce the animal's resistance to infection.

Induced disease:

Ammonia is recognized as the source of stress, is one of the most harmful gases in the animal shelter. The ammonia aqueous solution is alkaline, irritating to the mucous membrane, alkali burns can be serious, it can cause eye tears, pain, inflammation of the cornea and conjunctiva, visual impairment. Ammonia into the respiratory tract can cause cough, bronchitis and bronchitis, pulmonary edema, bleeding, dyspnea, asphyxia and other symptoms, or even necrosis, resulting in ventilator dysfunction. In addition, ammonia dissolves into mucus in the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, allowing mucus pH to become alkaline, and cilia lose activity and increase susceptibility to airborne diseases. When the pig ammonia reached 15 g/kg, experimental pigs began to appear respiratory disease, atrophic rhinitis 35 g/kg, and with the increase of NH3 concentrations both rates are rising sharply, to verify the research reports from abroad. The ammonia concentration of more than 50 g/kg, can cause respiratory tract mucosa injury, atrophic rhinitis and other diseases epidemic outbreaks are positively correlated with the concentration of NH3 in pig. The study found that in winter, a large number of harmful gases such as pig houses and ammonia gas accumulated, which accelerated the occurrence of high fever (highly pathogenic avian influenza), and the mortality rate of the nurses was higher.

Before telling the VOC detector how to deal with the pollution of the sensor, we need to understand two points: first, what is the pollution of the VOC detector and sensor? Two, VOC detector sensor pollution, the impact on the instrument?

First, the VOC detector sensor pollution refers to what?

VOC detector sensor contamination, generally refers to the VOC detector sensor for a long time in a high concentration of environmental exposure, exposure or testing, which makes the TVOC sensor contaminated.

Second, VOC sensor pollution after the impact on the instrument?

The VOC sensor is polluted mainly due to two factors: to influence the normal use of equipment, after receiving the pollution will cause the instrument readings affected (high data etc.), thus affecting the normal use; the influence of instrument life, VOC must be contaminated with high concentrations of VOC source have been in contact in the process in the UV light sensor in increasing workload, which directly affect the life of the instrument.

Understanding what air pollution detectors, VOC sensors, pollution means, and the impact of pollution on the instrument, the following will tell you, once the VOC sensor contaminated, how to deal with?.

First method for treating a VOC sensor after being contaminated:

Once the VOC sensor is polluted, the instrument for a long time on the preheating time, preheating treatment, as the degree of pollution and, until the instrument stopped after the normal preheating, and repeatedly switch instrument to confirm whether the return to normal value. If an individual cannot confirm the contamination of the instrument, contact info@china-oceanus.com, the technical services center, for assistance in time for confirmation of the readings.

Second method for treating VOC sensors were contaminated:

This method is the most direct and effective, which is the direct replacement of the sensor or ion lamp, this method need to be repeated to confirm whether the instrument is seriously polluted, if in the absence of a confirmed case of rush replacement may cause unnecessary economic costs.

The rapid development in the era of packaging and printing, packaging and printing brought significant economic benefits, regardless of the printed film or paper printing, food grade printing, ethyl acetate and other organic solvent ink in the exhaust gas pollution problems are also of concern.

Ethyl acetate (C4H8O2) is a colorless transparent liquid, low toxicity, sweet, belong to the volatile organic compounds (VOC). Ethyl acetate is one of the most widely used fatty acid esters. It is a fast drying solvent with excellent solubility. It is an excellent industrial solvent. It is widely used in the production of printing ink and artificial leather. They have a strong volatility, so in the printing process, the ink can easily dry and quickly solidified. In addition, there is an increase in the amount of ethyl acetate effect. Slightly sweet ethyl acetate is not only the darling of the printing and packaging industry, but also in the textile, food, pharmaceutical, spices and other industries. But because of its wide application, the ethyl acetate lethality and potential harm can not be ignored. When the concentration of ethyl acetate is high, it has irritating odor. When it is high concentration, it has anesthetic effect on people, and continues to inhale a lot, which can cause respiratory paralysis. Flammable, and its vapor and air is easy to form explosive mixture, in case of open fire, high heat will lead to combustion explosion.

In June 2011, dangerous chemicals safety administration of ethyl acetate has been included in the first batch of key regulatory hazardous chemicals, and the provisions of local safety supervision departments at all levels should be the production, storage, use, operation and supervision of the enterprise, priority included in the annual plans for the inspection of law enforcement, the implementation of key regulatory

The most harmful gas produced in the breeding farm is ammonia, followed by hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, stench and so on.

I. Ammonia introduction

Ammonia is colorless gas, toxic, dangerous level is 2.2. It's irritating. Common refrigerants. Molecular formula NH3. Molecular weight 17.03. Relative density 0.7714g/l. Melting point -77.7 DEG C. Boiling point -33.35 DEG C. Spontaneous ignition point 651.11. Vapor density 0.6. The vapor pressure of 1013.08kPa (25.7 C), very easily dissolve in water.

II. Influence of ammonia on livestock

1, It is easy to dissolve in water, and the water solution is alkaline. NH3 is mainly decomposed by organic compounds such as feces, feed and other nitrogen compounds in the farms. Low concentration of ammonia can make the respiratory and vascular center excited, high concentration can make the central nervous system paralysis, causing toxic liver disease and myocardial damage. Low concentration ammonia can cause the resistance of livestock and poultry to decrease, the morbidity and mortality increase, and the productivity decrease.

2, the ammonia in farms is often dissolved or adsorbed on the wet ground, walls and livestock breeding farms on the mucosa, when the temperature rises, dissolved in water with ammonia water separation, the formation of two times the air pollution, and again attached to the mucosa of livestock.

3, urinary urea (nitrogen containing fecal microbial protein in urine urea nitrogen refractory, here does not consider the fecal nitrogen produced by urea) degradation of ammonia (NH3); low concentration of ammonia is irritating to the skin and mucous membrane, often easily dissolved in the livestock respiratory tract mucous membrane and conjunctiva so, mucosal congestion, edema, conjunctivitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, pulmonary edema. Ammonia also affected the growth of broilers, laying hens, the egg rate increased, the incidence rate of increase. If chickens were exposed to Newcastle disease virus in the absence of ammonia, only 40% were infected; chickens reared in 15.2mg/m3 containing ammonia were infected with Newcastle disease virus (3D), and 100% of them were infected with Newcastle disease virus.

Oceanus is a professional supplier of instruments, we supply portable gas detector and online gas monitor, all can detector ammonia(NH3). You can see the ammonia concentration via the detector, Help you manage farms scientifically.

VOCs definition

VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) is referred to as volatile organic compounds, including non methane hydrocarbons (alkanes, alkenes, alkynes and aromatic hydrocarbon), oxygen containing organic compounds (aldehyde, ketone, alcohol, ether, halogenated hydrocarbon, etc.) containing nitrogen and sulfur compounds.

VOCs source

It is divided into natural and man-made sources, and the VOCs in air mainly comes from man-made sources. The key industries include industrial coating, packaging printing, oil storage and transportation, petroleum refining and chemical industry. Industry is the key area of VOCs emission, and the emission accounts for more than 50% of the total emissions. VOCs emission in industrial industry has the characteristics of high intensity, high concentration and many kinds of pollutants. Recycling is difficult and costly. It is the focus of VOCs reduction in the industrial field.

VOCs harm

VOCs has a huge impact on human health, toxic, irritating, carcinogenic. It is the key precursor for the formation of PM2.5 and ozone (VOCs emission or contribution of PM2.5 in 20%~30%), which is an important cause of compound air pollution.

Gas detector sampling methods, the common are: diffusion and pump suction. So, how does diffusion work? Pump suction is how to sample it?

Today Oceanus will introduce the difference between the diffusion and pump suction.

I, Diffusion:

Working principle: relying on natural air convection, the gas sample into the air chamber for testing.

Disadvantage 1: only detect the gas around the instrument, you can measure the scope of the gas, size, depending on the ambient temperature, wind direction, the distribution of various gases. Installation requirements: the position of the probe is very close to the detection point.

Disadvantage 2: detection limits are limited in small areas, can not be remote sampling, can only be installed near the detection point, if the suction pump (increasing the way the pump), but also limited to the opening part of the sampling tube.

II, Pump suction:

Working principle: there are two ways to use sampling, 1, one in front of ""push"", 2, one is in the back ""suction"", 3, there is an integrated design, that is, when the instrument is opened, the pump began to work.

Advantages: long distance sampling, the general instrument of the sampling pump has the ability to absorb horizontal.

Disadvantages: pumps work continuously, the power consumption is fast, with a longer sampling tube, but also consider the leakage problem, once the leakage, easy to inhale other gases, the detected gas components will be diluted or replaced.

Measure and indicate the concentration of certain gases in an air via different technologies. Typically employed to prevent toxic exposure and fire, gas detectors are often battery operated devices used for safety purposes. They are manufactured as portable or stationary (fixed) units and work by signifying high levels of gases through a series of audible or visible indicators, such as alarms, lights or a combination of signals. While many of the older, standard gas detector units were originally fabricated to detect one gas, modern multifunctional or multi-gas devices are capable of detecting several gases at once. Some detectors may be utilized as individual units to monitor small workspace areas, or units can be combined or linked together to create a protection system.

As detectors measure a specified gas concentration, the sensor response serves as the reference point or scale. When the sensors response surpasses a certain pre-set level, an alarm will activate to warn the user. There are various types of detectors available and the majority serves the same function: to monitor and warn of a dangerous gas level. However, when considering what type of detector to install, it is helpful to consider the different sensor technologies.

Gas Detector Technologies

Gas detectors are categorized by the type of gas they detect: combustible or toxic. Within this broad categorization, they are further defined by the technology they use: catalytic and infrared sensors detect combustible gases and electrochemical and metal oxide semiconductor technologies generally detect toxic gases

Measurement of Toxic Gases

Electrochemical sensors or cells are most commonly used in the detection of toxic gases like carbon monoxide, chlorine and nitrogen oxides. They function via electrodes signals when a gas is detected. Generally, these types of detectors are highly sensitive and give off warning signals via electrical currents. Various manufacturers produce these detectors with a digital display.

Metal Oxide Semiconductors, or MOS, are also used for detecting toxic gases (commonly carbon monoxide) and work via a gas sensitive film that is composed of tin or tungsten oxides. The sensitive film reacts with gases, triggering the device when toxic levels are present. Generally, metal oxide sensors are considered efficient due their ability to operate in low-humidity ranges. In addition, they are able to detect a range of gases, including combustibles.

Measurement of Combustible Gases

Catalytic sensors represent a large number of gas detector devices that are manufactured today. This technology is used to detect combustible gases such as hydrocarbon, and works via catalytic oxidation. The sensors of this type of detector are typically constructed from a platinum treated wire coil. As a combustible gas comes into contact with the catalytic surface, it is oxidized and the wiring resistance is changed by heat that is released. A bridge circuit is typically used to indicate the resistance change.

Infrared sensors or IR detectors work via a system of transmitters and receivers to detect combustible gases, specifically hydrocarbon vapors. Typically, the transmitters are light sources and receivers are light detectors. If a gas is present in the optical path, it will interfere with the power of the light transmission between the transmitter and receiver. The altered state of light determines if and what type of gas is present.

Common Gas Detector Applications

Although detectors are an essential application for home and commercial safety, they are also employed in numerous industrial industries. Gas detectors are used in welding shops to detect combustibles and toxics and in nuclear plants, to detect combustibles. They are also commonly used to detect hazardous vapors in wastewater treatment plants.

Gas detectors are very efficient in confined spaces where there is no continuous employee occupancy. Such spaces include tanks, pits, vessels and storage bins. Detectors may also be placed at a site to detect toxins prior to occupant entry.

Additional Gas Detector Information:

Although gas detectors are generally a reliable technology, with some models capable of lasting up to five years, their proper function is generally dependent on user maintenance, battery inspection and calibration. Calibration is a safety procedure executed to ensure that detectors are measuring the correct level of gas. In addition, the life-span of gas detectors also often depends on the amount of gas vapors to which they are exposed. Contaminated sensors may not register dangerous gas levels, which is why frequent calibration is essential.

For several years, people have been complaining about various health issues that have been caused due to breathing poor air. Unlike a few years ago where only older people were prone to respiratory issues, Pollution has engulfed every age group – With regular complaints about respiratory issues such as a regular cough and cold, asthma, and sinusitis.  Also, people who have chronic heart illness are now suffering from further health issues fighting for their life, often making a visit to the emergency room during bad AQI (Air Quality Index) days.

As per the World Health Organization (WHO), every year 8 million people die worldwide due to poor air quality. This has also brought light to the grave situation that air pollution is harmful to the humankind. Understanding Air Pollution has become a matter of great urgency. It is important to take necessary action against it, but since there isn’t enough awareness about how grievous the entire thing is becoming, actions will only go to vain. They say “Ignorance is Bliss” but when it comes to Air Pollution, ignorance will only drop us down into the rabbit hole. This brings us to a point where learning about monitoring Air Quality Data can help mitigate air pollution in a swifter way.

Here are 3 reasons that tell us how monitoring air quality data can help us understand the impact of outdoor air pollution and ultimately channel us towards reducing our carbon footprints.

Smart On-road Traffic Management
With the increase in the number of vehicles, there is a rise in pollution. The Government has tried and tested various traffic regulations to curtail the pollution level in metro cities. However, the impact of these regulations has only resulted in chaos.
Installing outdoor pollution monitoring devices on highways, intersections, and crossroads will help track the pollution trends in major cities. The sensors can find the hotspots of the air pollutants along with the time and accurate concentration of the pollutants present in the air. With the help of real-time air pollution data integrated with local traffic data, it can help develop smart traffic controls which will minimize congestion on the road. Naturally, less traffic will equate to people getting less exposure to pollutants.

Standard Data Transparency
We need to understand that smart air pollution devices differ from traditional monitoring sensors. A traditional sensor collects only a handful of information about the air quality and collectively represents a generic air quality data for the entire city. The quality of the air also depends on the wind speed and direction. But, it is possible that two locations - Just a few meters apart can have different Air Quality Index (AQI). For instance, if location A has a simple change in wind direction, the air quality of location B - Which might be just 100 meters away, will be different.
Learning pollution monitoring data encourages everyone to get into the roots of the pollution parameters - Providing health recommendations and preventive measures to maximize the quality of life.
Better Air Quality in Schools
The thing that most parents worry about is whether their kid is going to the right school with good environment. Being the foundation of a child’s learning phase - School and other educational institutions must have a healthy surrounding. As kids are in their developing stage, being vulnerable to the impact of air pollution becomes higher.
The effects of toxic pollutants that are present in the air can have an adverse effect on children. School going children can easily become prone to respiratory and cardiovascular complication at an early age. It has been observed that these children complain about facing health issues when they are at school. However, once they leave the school premise they feel better which can be a result of suffering from Sick Building Syndrome (SBS).

Introducing real-time air quality monitors and a proper HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system can prevent schools from getting affected by harmful pollutants. Keeping a close eye on the various aspects of air quality data that provides a complete insight of the indoor and outdoor pollution will the school authority keep a close check on the increasing absenteeism and poor performances by the students.

There is a certain difference between the two.
First of all, to determine whether the products of the 4 in 1 gas detector need to be purchased have product qualification, which is the necessary document for the safety supervision bureau to inspect in the future. See if the product has CE, RoHS certificates, etc.

Secondly, clear whether the products needed are gas detectors or alarms, both of which can detect flammable toxic gases and alarm to prevent danger. It depends on whether you need fixed or portable.

The hazards of air pollution mainly include the following aspects

Endanger human body
Atmospheric pollutants are harmful to human body in many ways. The main manifestations are respiratory diseases and physiological dysfunction, as well as irritation of mucosal tissues such as eyes and nose, which is a chronic factor causing asthma in the elderly. Insufficiency of lung leads to physical decline.
When the concentration of pollutants in the atmosphere is very high, it will cause acute pollution poisoning, or worsen the symptoms, and even kill thousands of people in a few days. In fact, even if the concentration of pollutants in the atmosphere is not high, the human body breathes the polluted air for many years, which can also cause chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, emphysema and lung cancer and other diseases.
In the latest ranking of death causes of urban residents issued by the National Health and Family Planning Commission, malignant tumors rank first, and lung cancer ranks first. The incidence of lung cancer in China is 27% in males and 22% in females.

Harm to plants
Atmospheric pollutants, especially sulfur dioxide and fluoride, are very harmful to plants. When the concentration of pollutants is very high, it will cause acute harm to plants, causing the surface of plant leaves to be damaged, or directly causing the leaf to wither and fall off; when the concentration of pollutants is not high, it will cause chronic harm to plants, making the leaves of plants chlorotic, or seemingly invisible harmful symptoms, but the physiological function of plants has been affected, resulting in the decline of plant production and deterioration of plant quality.

Impacts on climate
The influence of atmospheric pollutants on weather and climate is very significant. It can be explained from the following aspects:
(1) Reduce the amount of solar radiation reaching the ground: a large number of dust particles emitted into the atmosphere from factories, power stations, automobiles and household heating equipment make the air very turbid, block the sun and reduce the amount of solar radiation reaching the ground. According to the observation and statistics, the amount of direct sunlight shining on the ground in the smoke-free days of large industrial cities is nearly 40% less than that in the smoke-free days. If air pollution is serious in cities, it will lead to poor growth and development of human beings, animals and plants due to lack of sunlight.
acid rain
(2) Increase the amount of atmospheric precipitation: many of the particulates discharged from large industrial cities have the function of condensation nodules. Therefore, when some other precipitation conditions in the atmosphere cooperate with it, there will be precipitation weather. In downwind areas of big industrial cities, precipitation is more.
(3) Acid rain: Sometimes the rain falling from the sky contains sulphuric acid. This acid rain is formed by the oxidation of sulfur dioxide, a pollutant in the atmosphere, to form sulfuric acid, which falls down with the natural precipitation. Sulfuric acid rain can destroy a large area of forests and crops, make paper, textiles, leather products and other corrosive breakage, deteriorate the anti-rust coatings of metals and reduce the protective effect, but also corrode and pollute buildings.

Over large industrial cities, because a large amount of waste heat is discharged into the air, the temperature of the air near the ground is higher than that in the surrounding suburbs. This phenomenon is called ""heat island effect"" in meteorology.

It is believed that carbon dioxide plays an important role in all kinds of atmospheric pollutants that may cause climate change.  About 50% of the carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere from countless chimneys and other waste gas pipelines on Earth remains in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide can absorb long-wave radiation from the ground and raise the temperature of the air near the ground. This is called the ""greenhouse effect"". It is roughly estimated that if the content of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increases by 25%, the temperature near the ground can increase by 0.5-2 degrees Celsius. If the temperature increases by 100%, the temperature near the ground can be increased by 1.5-6 C. Some experts believe that the increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere at the rate after 2000 will accelerate the melting of ice in the Antarctic and Antarctic, leading to global climate anomalies.

",201975144336.jpg,57,55,1,2019/7/5 14:44 1474,Understanding the Air Pollution Problem,Understanding the Air Pollution Problem,Air pollution is one of the most serious problems in the world.,Air pollution is one of the most serious problems in the world.,"Air pollution is one of the most serious problems in the world. It refers to the contamination of the atmosphere by harmful chemicals or biological materials. According to the World's Worst Polluted Places by Blacksmith Institute in 2008, two of the worst pollution problems in the world are urban air quality and indoor air pollution
In the United States, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) collects air pollution statistics. It's important to study these statistics because they show how polluted the air has become in various places around the country. Generally, the statistics reflect the levels of six pollutants, namely, ozone, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, lead, and particulate matter. There are maximum allowable limits for each pollutant.
Air pollution can cause long-term and short-term health effects. It's found that the elderly and young children are more affected by air pollution. Short-term health effects include eye, nose, and throat irritation, headaches, allergic reactions, and upper respiratory infections. Some long-term health effects are lung cancer, brain damage, liver damage, kidney damage, heart disease, and respiratory disease.
Air pollution causes damage to crops, animals, forests, and bodies of water. It also contributes to the depletion of the ozone layer, which protects the Earth from the sun's UV rays. Another negative effect of air pollution is the formation of acid rain, which harms trees, soils, rivers, and wildlife. Some of the other environmental effects of air pollution are haze, eutrophication, and global climate change.
Human activities have been highlighted as the major causes of air pollution, especially in the cities. To support a larger population, there's a need for energy production, transportation, and industries, resulting in the emission of harmful chemicals into the atmosphere. A list of the human causes of air pollution includes vehicles, domestic smoke and heating, aircraft pollution, outdoor fires, and incineration of waste. To reduce the problems of air pollution, people should be more aware of their actions in these areas.

Other than human actions, air pollution is also caused by natural events. Biological decay and volcanoes release natural sulfur dioxides and nitrogen oxides, affecting air quality in negative ways. Most of the ozone around the ground level is formed when chemical reactions occur in the sunlight but there's also about 10 to 15 percent transported from the stratosphere. Other natural causes of air pollution are natural sources of particulate matters like volcanoes and dust storms, volatile organic compounds, pollen, forest fires, oceans, and forest fires.

The air quality around and within buildings and structures is known as indoor air quality. Indoor air quality has a direct effect on the comfort and health of occupants, whether it's the home, office or other buildings. Some of the common pollutants of indoor air include radon, molds, carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds, asbestos fibers, carbon dioxide, ozone, and the burning of biomass. Proper ventilation, filtration, and the control of pollutant sources are some of the primary ways to improve indoor air quality.

",2019710174815.jpg,57,55,1,2019/7/10 17:58 1476,Why Monitor Air Quality,Why Monitor Air Quality,Why Monitor Air Quality,Why Monitor Air Quality,"

Air is essential to life. Poor air quality threatens the health of all living things from humans to plants. There are many types of air pollution, and each have a different effect on human health. The two most common types of air pollution in the United States are ozone and particle pollution. Both irritate the respiratory system, making it difficult to breathe, but can also have a more serious impact on health.

Ozone is a colorless gas that forms when emissions from cars, power plants, and industry react with sunlight. Ozone is a major component in urban smog. Ozone pollution irritates the respiratory system, causing coughing and throat irritation, makes breathing difficult, aggravates asthma, and can inflame and damage the lining of the lungs over time.

Particle Pollution is any kind of particle or liquid droplet in the atmosphere. Particle pollution, or aerosols, has many sources. Fine particles, small enough to get into the lungs, primarily come from combustion in cars, power plants, fires, and industry. Coarse particles tend to have natural sources such as dust or sea salt. Particle pollution may aggravate heart and lung disease. The number of hospital visits associated with lung and heart disease goes up when particle pollution is high. Particle pollution is associated with heart attacks and cardiac arrhythmias, causes difficulty breathing, and makes people more susceptible to respiratory infections.

Air quality can have such a big impact on health. But air quality was not the same everywhere. Pollution can build up in isolated pockets, and local sources (an industrial plant or a busy road) can add to the overall poor air quality.
Air quality fluctuates from day to day for a number of reasons. Most obviously, air quality changes if more pollutants are put into the atmosphere. A large event such as a dust storm, wildfire, or volcanic eruption can dramatically darken the skies. Emissions also climb when energy demand goes up as it does on hot days. Scientists have also noted a weekly cycle in emissions dependent on local culture. In the United States, for example, air quality tends to be better on Saturdays and Sundays when fewer cars are on the road and electricity demand is lower because fewer businesses are operating.

Second, concentrations of pollutants in the atmosphere depend on the weather. Since sunlight is a necessary ingredient in ozone formation, ozone pollution levels tend to be highest during long summer days. A weather inversion, when warm air is trapped beneath a layer of cooler air, also leads to poor air quality since surface air has nowhere to go. Pollutants build in the pocket of trapped air.

Finally, air pollution can have a local source, such as a power plant or factory, or it can come from somewhere else. Smoke from western wildfires can impact air quality in the Eastern United States. Dust from Africa clouds Florida’s skies, and haze from Asia can reach the U.S. West Coast. Satellites have been instrumental in tracking pollution as it travels from place to place around the globe.

Any problem that threatens our health is not a small problem. Environmental issues are getting more and more attention. The EPA and the Environmental Monitoring Center can implement real-time monitoring of air quality through data from air quality monitoring stations

Monitoring Air Quality Data can help mitigate air pollution in a swifter way. Ambient air monitoring is the systematic, long-term assessment of pollutant levels by measuring the quantity and types of certain pollutants in the surrounding, outdoor air.
An air quality monitor is a device that measures the level of common air pollutants. Monitors are available for both indoor and outdoor settings. Indoor air quality monitors are typically sensor based instruments. Some of them are able to measure ppb levels and come as either mixed gas or portable units. Sensor based instruments and air quality monitoring systems are used widely in outdoor ambient applications.
Industrial operators use air quality monitoring equipment to cost effectively monitor and manage emissions on their perimeter, which helps them improve relationships with regulators and communities. With air quality regulation shifting the burden from publicly funded monitoring to monitoring funded by industry, it has been increasingly important for businesses to acquire their own quality monitoring equipment.
The locations for monitoring stations depend on the purpose of the monitoring. Most air quality monitoring networks are designed to support human health objectives, and monitoring stations are established in population centers. They may be near busy roads, in city centers, or at locations of particular concern (e.g., a school, hospital, particular emissions sources). Monitoring stations also may be established to determine background pollution levels, away from urban areas and emissions sources.
Installing outdoor pollution monitoring devices on highways, intersections, and crossroads will help track the pollution trends in major cities.   Air pollution is spread unevenly throughout the country. Many lower socioeconomic neighborhoods are suffering from poor air quality that is higher than the upper socioeconomic neighborhoods. Monitoring air quality of all these locations irrespective of the socioeconomic structure will help address the gap in information - Supporting people who can turn negative list of the environmental justice into a positive one.

",,57,55,1,2019/7/17 18:23 1482,History of Gas Leakage Detection,History of Gas Leakage Detection,History of Gas Leakage Detection,History of Gas Leakage Detection,"

Gas leak detection methods became a concern after the effects of harmful gases on human health were discovered. Before modern electronic sensors, early detection methods relied on less precise detectors. Through the 19th and early 20th centuries, coal miners would bring canaries down to the tunnels with them as an early detection system against life-threatening gases such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and methane. The canary, normally a very songful bird, would stop singing and eventually die if not removed from these gases, signaling the miners to exit the mine quickly.

Gas leak detection is the process of identifying potentially hazardous gas leaks by sensors. These sensors usually employ an audible alarm to alert people when a dangerous gas has been detected. Exposure to toxic gases can also occur in operations such as painting, fumigation, fuel filling, construction, excavation of contaminated soils, landfill operations, entering confined spaces, etc. Common sensors include combustible gas sensors, photoionization detectors, infrared point sensors, ultrasonic sensors, electrochemical gas sensors, and semiconductor sensors. More recently, infrared imaging sensors have come into use. All of these sensors are used for a wide range of applications and can be found in industrial plants, refineries, pharmaceutical manufacturing, fumigation facilities, paper pulp mills, aircraft and shipbuilding facilities, hazmat operations, waste-water treatment facilities, vehicles, indoor air quality testing and homes.

The first gas detector in the industrial age was the flame safety lamp (or Davy lamp) was invented by Sir Humphry Davy (of England) in 1815 to detect the presence of methane (firedamp) in underground coal mines. The flame safety lamp consisted of an oil flame adjusted to specific height in fresh air. To prevent ignition with the lamps flame was contained within a glass sleeve with a mesh flame arrestor. The flames height varied depending on the presence of methane (higher) or the lack of oxygen (lower). To this day, in certain parts of the world flame safety lamps are still in service.

The modern era of gas detection started in 1926-1927 with the development of the catalytic combustion (LEL) sensor by Dr.Oliver Johnson. Dr Johnson was an employee of Standard Oil Company in California (now Chevron), he begun research and development on a method to detect combustible mixtures in air to help prevent explosions in fuel storage tanks. A demonstration model was developed in 1926 and denoted as the Model A. The first practical ""electric vapor indicator"" meter begun production in 1927 with the release of the Model B.

The worlds first gas detection company, Johnson-Williams Instruments (or J-W Instruments) was formed in 1928 in Palo Alto, CA by Dr Oliver Johnston and Phil Williams. J-W Instruments is recognized as the first electronics company in Silicon Valley. Over the next 40 years J-W Instruments pioneered many ""firsts"" in the modern age of gas detection, including making instruments smaller and more portable, development of a portable oxygen detector as well as the first combination instrument that could detect both combustible gases/vapors as well as oxygen.

Before the development of electronic household carbon monoxide detectors in the 1980s and 1990s, carbon monoxide presence was detected with a chemically infused paper that turned brown when exposed to the gas. Since then, many electronic technologies and devices have been developed to detect, monitor, and alert the leak of a wide array of gases.

As the cost and performance of electronic gas sensors improved, they have been incorporated into a wider range of systems. Their use in automobiles was initially for engine emissions control, but now gas sensors may also be used to ensure passenger comfort and safety. Carbon dioxide sensors are being installed into buildings as part of demand-controlled ventilation systems. Sophisticated gas sensor systems are being researched for use in medical diagnostic, monitoring, and treatment systems, well beyond their initial use in operating rooms. Gas monitors and alarms for carbon monoxide and other harmful gases are increasingly available for office and domestic use, and are becoming legally required in some jurisdictions.

Originally, detectors were produced to detect a single gas. Modern units may detect several toxic or combustible gases, or even a combination. Newer gas analyzers can break up the component signals from a complex aroma to identify several gases simultaneously.

",2019721173139.jpg,57,55,1,2019/7/21 17:34 1488,What is environmental protection,What is environmental protection,Environmental protection,Environmental protection,"

Environmental protection is the practice of protecting the natural environment by individuals, organizations and governments. Its objectives are to conserve natural resources and the existing natural environment and, where possible, to repair damage and reverse trends.

Due to the pressures of overconsumption, population growth and technology, the biophysical environment is being degraded, sometimes permanently. This has been recognized, and governments have begun placing restraints on activities that cause environmental degradation. Since the 1960s, environmental movements have created more awareness of the various environmental problems. There is disagreement on the extent of the environmental impact of human activity and even scientific dishonesty occurs, so protection measures are occasionally debated.

In the industrial countries, voluntary environmental agreements often provide a platform for companies to be recognized for moving beyond the minimum regulatory standards and thus support the development of best environmental practice. For instance, in India, Environment Improvement Trust (EIT) has been working for environmental and forest protection since 1998. A group of Green Volunteers get a goal of Green India Clean India concept. CA Gajendra Kumar Jain a Chartered Accountant, is the founder of Environment Improvement Trust in Sojat city a small village of State of Rajasthan in India. In developing countries, such as Latin America, these agreements are more commonly used to remedy significant levels of non-compliance with mandatory regulation. The challenges that exist with these agreements lie in establishing baseline data, targets, monitoring and reporting. Due to the difficulties inherent in evaluating effectiveness, their use is often questioned and, indeed, the whole environment may well be adversely affected as a result. The key advantage of their use in developing countries is that their use helps to build environmental management capacity.

Many of the earth's resources are especially vulnerable because they are influenced by human impacts across many countries. As a result of this, many attempts are made by countries to develop agreements that are signed by multiple governments to prevent damage or manage the impacts of human activity on natural resources. This can include agreements that impact factors such as climate, oceans, rivers and air pollution. These international environmental agreements are sometimes legally binding documents that have legal implications when they are not followed and, at other times, are more agreements in principle or are for use as codes of conduct. These agreements have a long history with some multinational agreements being in place from as early as 1910 in Europe, America and Africa. Some of the most well-known international agreements include the Kyoto Protocol.

Discussion concerning environmental protection often focuses on the role of government, legislation, and law enforcement. However, in its broadest sense, environmental protection may be seen to be the responsibility of all the people and not simply that of government. Decisions that impact the environment will ideally involve a broad range of stakeholders including industry, indigenous groups, environmental group and community representatives. Gradually, environmental decision-making processes are evolving to reflect this broad base of stakeholders and are becoming more collaborative in many countries.

Many constitutions acknowledge the fundamental right to environmental protection and many international treaties acknowledge the right to live in a healthy environment. Also, many countries have organizations and agencies devoted to environmental protection. There are international environmental protection organizations, such as the United Nations Environment Programme.

Although environmental protection is not simply the responsibility of government protection acts , most people view these agencies as being of prime importance in establishing and maintaining basic standards that protect both the environment and the people interacting with it.

Health Effects

Air pollution can harm us when it accumulates in the air in high enough concentrations. Millions of Americans live in areas where urban smog, particle pollution, and toxic pollutants pose serious health concerns. People exposed to high enough levels of certain air pollutants may experience: Irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat; Wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and breathing difficulties; Worsening of existing lung and heart problems, such as asthma; Increased risk of heart attack.

In addition, long-term exposure to air pollution can cause cancer and damage to the immune, neurological, reproductive, and respiratory systems. In extreme cases, it can even cause death.

Who Is Most at Risk?

Air pollution is a problem for all of us. However, some groups of people are especially sensitive to common air pollutants such as particulates and ground-level ozone. Sensitive populations include children, older adults, people who are active outdoors, and people with heart or lung diseases, such as asthma. If you are sensitive to air pollution, you need to be aware of steps you can take to protect your health.

Environmental Effects

Along with harming human health, air pollution can cause a variety of environmental effects:

Acid rain is precipitation containing harmful amounts of nitric and sulfuric acids. These acids are formed primarily by nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides released into the atmosphere when fossil fuels are burned. These acids fall to the Earth either as wet precipitation (rain, snow, or fog) or dry precipitation (gas and particulates). Some are carried by the wind, sometimes hundreds of miles. In the environment, acid rain damages trees and causes soils and water bodies to acidify, making the water unsuitable for some fish and other wildlife. It also speeds the decay of buildings, statues, and sculptures that are part of our national heritage. Acid rain has damaged Massachusetts lakes, ponds, rivers, and soils, leading to damaged wildlife and forests.

Eutrophication is a condition in a water body where high concentrations of nutrients (such as nitrogen) stimulate blooms of algae, which in turn can cause fish kills and loss of plant and animal diversity. Although eutrophication is a natural process in the aging of lakes and some estuaries, human activities can greatly accelerate eutrophication by increasing the rate at which nutrients enter aquatic ecosystems. Air emissions of nitrogen oxides from power plants, cars, trucks, and other sources contribute to the amount of nitrogen entering aquatic ecosystems.

Haze is caused when sunlight encounters tiny pollution particles in the air. Haze obscures the clarity, color, texture, and form of what we see. Some haze-causing pollutants (mostly fine particles) are directly emitted to the atmosphere by sources such as power plants, industrial facilities, trucks and automobiles, and construction activities. Others are formed when gases emitted to the air (such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides) form particles as they are carried downwind.

Effects on wildlife. Toxic pollutants in the air, or deposited on soils or surface waters, can impact wildlife in a number of ways. Like humans, animals can experience health problems if they are exposed to sufficient concentrations of air toxics over time. Studies show that air toxics are contributing to birth defects, reproductive failure, and disease in animals. Persistent toxic air pollutants (those that break down slowly in the environment) are of particular concern in aquatic ecosystems. These pollutants accumulate in sediments and may biomagnify in tissues of animals at the top of the food chain to concentrations many times higher than in the water or air.

Ozone depletion. Ozone is a gas that occurs both at ground-level and in the Earth's upper atmosphere, known as the stratosphere. At ground level, ozone is a pollutant that can harm human health. In the stratosphere, however, ozone forms a layer that protects life on earth from the sun's harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. But this ""good"" ozone is gradually being destroyed by man-made chemicals referred to as ozone-depleting substances, including chlorofluorocarbons, hydrochlorofluorocarbons, and halons. These substances were formerly used and sometimes still are used in coolants, foaming agents, fire extinguishers, solvents, pesticides, and aerosol propellants. Thinning of the protective ozone layer can cause increased amounts of UV radiation to reach the Earth, which can lead to more cases of skin cancer, cataracts, and impaired immune systems. UV can also damage sensitive crops, such as soybeans, and reduce crop yields.

Crop and forest damage. Air pollution can damage crops and trees in a variety of ways.Ground-level ozone can lead to reductions in agricultural crop and commercial forest yields, reduced growth and survivability of tree seedlings, and increased plant susceptibility to disease, pests and other environmental stresses (such as harsh weather). As described above, crop and forest damage can also result from acid rain and from increased UV radiation caused by ozone depletion.

Global climate change. The Earth's atmosphere contains a delicate balance of naturally occurring gases that trap some of the sun's heat near the Earth's surface. This ""greenhouse effect"" keeps the Earth's temperature stable. Unfortunately, evidence is mounting that humans have disturbed this natural balance by producing large amounts of some of these greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide and methane. As a result, the Earth's atmosphere appears to be trapping more of the sun's heat, causing the Earth's average temperature to rise - a phenomenon known as global warming. Many scientists believe that global warming could have significant impacts on human health, agriculture, water resources, forests, wildlife, and coastal areas.

",201972615444.jpg,57,55,1,2019/7/26 15:44 1495,What is Acid Rain?,What is Acid Rain?,What is Acid Rain?,What is Acid Rain?,"

What is Acid Rain?

Acid rain, or acid deposition, is a broad term that includes any form of precipitation with acidic components, such as sulfuric or nitric acid that fall to the ground from the atmosphere in wet or dry forms.  This can include rain, snow, fog, hail or even dust that is acidic.

What Causes Acid Rain?

Acid rain results when sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOX) are emitted into the atmosphere and transported by wind and air currents.  The SO2 and NOX react with water, oxygen and other chemicals to form sulfuric and nitric acids.  These then mix with water and other materials before falling to the ground.

While a small portion of the SO2 and NOX that cause acid rain is from natural sources such as volcanoes, most of it comes from the burning of fossil fuels.  The major sources of SO2 and NOX in the atmosphere are:

Burning of fossil fuels to generate electricity.  Two thirds of SO2 and one fourth of NOX in the atmosphere come from electric power generators.
Vehicles and heavy equipment.
Manufacturing, oil refineries and other industries.

Winds can blow SO2 and NOX over long distances and across borders making acid rain a problem for everyone and not just those who live close to these sources.

Forms of Acid Deposition

Wet Deposition
Wet deposition is what we most commonly think of as acid rain.  The sulfuric and nitric acids formed in the atmosphere fall to the ground mixed with rain, snow, fog, or hail.

Dry Deposition

Acidic particles and gases can also deposit from the atmosphere in the absence of moisture as dry deposition.  The acidic particles and gases may deposit to surfaces (water bodies, vegetation, buildings) quickly or may react during atmospheric transport to form larger particles that can be harmful to human health. When the accumulated acids are washed off a surface by the next rain, this acidic water flows over and through the ground, and can harm plants and wildlife, such as insects and fish.

The amount of acidity in the atmosphere that deposits to earth through dry deposition depends on the amount of rainfall an area receives.  For example, in desert areas the ratio of dry to wet deposition is higher than an area that receives several inches of rain each year.

Measuring Acid Rain

Acidity and alkalinity are measured using a pH scale for which 7.0 is neutral. The lower a substance's pH (less than 7), the more acidic it is; the higher a substance's pH (greater than 7), the more alkaline it is. Normal rain has a pH of about 5.6; it is slightly acidic because carbon dioxide (CO2) dissolves into it forming weak carbonic acid.  Acid rain usually has a pH between 4.2 and 4.4.

Policymakers, research scientists, ecologists, and modelers rely on the National Atmospheric Deposition Program’s (NADP) National Trends Network (NTN) for measurements of wet deposition. The NADP/NTN collects acid rain at more than 250 monitoring sites throughout the US, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands. Unlike wet deposition, dry deposition is difficult and expensive to measure. Dry deposition estimates for nitrogen and sulfur pollutants are provided by the Clean Air Status and Trends Network (CASTNET). Air concentrations are measured by CASTNET at more than 90 locations.

When acid deposition is washed into lakes and streams, it can cause some to turn acidic. The Long-Term Monitoring (LTM) Network measures and monitors surface water chemistry at over 280 sites to provide valuable information on aquatic ecosystem health and how water bodies respond to changes in acid-causing emissions and acid deposition.

",201973117452.jpg,57,55,1,2019/7/31 17:04 1498,Air pollution and health: Summary,Air pollution and health: Summary, ambient air pollution,Air pollution and health: Summary,"  From smog hanging over cities to smoke inside the home, air pollution poses a major threat to health and climate. The combined effects of ambient (outdoor) and household air pollution cause about 7 million premature deaths every year, largely as a result of increased mortality from stroke, heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer and acute respiratory infections. More than 80% of people living in urban areas that monitor air pollution are exposed to air quality levels that exceed the WHO guideline level of 10µg/m3, with low- and middle-income countries suffering from the highest exposures.
The major outdoor pollution sources include vehicles, power generation, building heating systems, agriculture/waste incineration and industry. In addition, more than 3 billion people worldwide rely on polluting technologies and fuels (including biomass, coal and kerosene) for household cooking, heating and lighting, releasing smoke into the home and leaching pollutants outdoors.
Air quality is closely linked to earth’s climate and ecosystems globally. Many of the drivers of air pollution (i.e. combustion of fossil fuels) are also sources of high CO2 emissions. Some air pollutants such as ozone and black carbon are short-lived climate pollutants that greatly contribute to climate change and affect agricultural productivity. Policies to reduce air pollution, therefore, offer a “win-win” strategy for both climate and health, lowering the burden of disease attributable to air pollution, as well as contributing to the near- and long-term mitigation of climate change.
Air pollution can be significantly reduced by expanding access to clean household fuels and technologies, as well as prioritizing: rapid urban transit, walking and cycling networks; energy-efficient buildings and urban design; improved waste management; and electricity production from renewable power sources.
WHO's work is guided by a 2015 World Health Assembly resolution followed by a 4-year Road Map for Enhanced Global Action, which was approved by the WHA in 2016. These call upon WHO to display leadership in advocating for actions to reduce the health impacts of air pollution exposures and to enhance the health sector’s capacity to act at local, national, regional and global levels, guiding interventions and policy change.
WHO has convened a Global Platform on Air Pollution and Health with experts across academia and government, to improve methods of global, regional and national monitoring and surveillance of air pollution exposures, ensuring open-access to air quality data. WHO is leading an Urban Health Initiative (UHI), in collaboration with other UN and civil society actors, to catalyze effective urban action on air pollution by linking decision-makers across health, environmental and planning sectors. In terms of the Sustainable Development Goals, WHO is responsible for monitoring health-relevant indicators for: Air pollution-related mortality (SDG 3.9.1); Access to clean energy in homes (SDG 7.1.2); and Air quality in cities (SDG 11.6.2).

In addition, the BreatheLife campaign (led by WHO, UN Environment and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition) is promoting awareness among the public, health care professionals and city governments about the linkages between air pollution, health and climate change and means of taking concrete actions.

",,57,55,1,2019/8/5 9:17 1499,How much do you know about toxic gases?,How much do you know about toxic gases?,How much do you know about toxic gases?,How much do you know about toxic gases?,"  Toxic gases (or noxious gases) are gases that are harmful to living things. They can easily build up in confined working spaces when the production process uses noxious gases. It may also result in the biological chemical breakdown of a substance that is being stored in a tank. Certain factory-related activities, such as welding, can also result in the build-up of toxic gases in a confined space.

The following toxic gases are the ones most commonly encountered:

Carbon monoxide: This kind of gas is mainly produced in the process of mine fire and gas and coal dust explosion. It is colorless, odorless and odorless. It is lighter than ordinary air. It mostly exists in the middle and upper part of the roadway. It is a very toxic gas. When the concentration of air reaches 0.4%, people will lose consciousness in a short time and die soon.
After death from poisoning, the face and lips are pink, and there are small red spots under the thighs and armpits.
Nitrogen dioxide: This gas mainly comes from downhole firing. Pure nitric oxide is a red-brown gas. The underground nitric oxide has been diluted by the air flow, so it is generally grey-white. It has a strong irritating smell, heavier than the general air, and mostly exists in the middle and lower part of the roadway. It is a highly toxic gas, which has a strong corrosive effect on human eyes, respiratory tract and lung tissue, and can be induced. Pulmonary edema, cor pulmonale, etc. When the concentration of nitrogen dioxide in the air reaches 0.025%, people can die in a short time. Special attention should be paid here to the fact that such gas poisoning is often delayed and often occurs 4-6 hours after the well is lifted. Attention must be paid to it.
Sulphur dioxide: It is mainly produced by coal oxidation and spontaneous combustion of coal containing sulphur, as well as by blasting in sulphur-bearing coal seam. This gas is colorless, has a strong sulfur odor, heavier than ordinary air, and mostly exists in the middle and lower part of the roadway. Sulfur dioxide has a strong stimulating effect on human eyes and respiratory system. When its concentration in the air reaches 0.05%, it will cause bronchitis, emphysema, and serious death in a short time.
Hydrogen sulfide: Hydrogen sulfide gas often exists in coal seam, which is released naturally in the process of coal falling. Some substances decay and sulfur-containing minerals can also decompose into hydrogen sulfide when they meet water. This kind of gas is colorless, slightly sweet and smells of rotten eggs. It is heavier than ordinary air. It mostly exists in the middle and lower part of the roadway. It is a kind of gas with strong toxicity. It can stimulate the mucosa of human eyes, nose and throat. When the concentration of air reaches 0.1%, people will die in a short time.

Outdoor air pollution originates from natural and anthropogenic sources. While natural sources contribute substantially to local air pollution in arid regions more prone to forest fires and dust storms, the contribution from human activities far exceeds natural sources.

Human activities that are major sources of outdoor air pollution, include: Fuel combustion from motor vehicles (e.g. cars and heavy duty vehicles); Heat and power generation (e.g. oil and coal power plants and boilers); Industrial facilities (e.g. manufacturing factories, mines, and oil refineries); Municipal and agricultural waste sites and waste incineration/burning; Residential cooking, heating, and lighting with polluting fuels.

Poor urban planning, which leads to sprawl and over-dependence on private vehicle transport, is also a major factor in accelerated pollution emissions.

Adverse health consequences to air pollution can occur as a result of short- or long-term exposure. The pollutants with the strongest evidence of health effects are particulate matter (PM), ozone (O3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and sulphur dioxide (SO2).

Although most emissions of ambient air pollution are from local or regional sources, under certain atmospheric conditions air pollution can travel long distances across national borders over time scales of 4-6 days, thereby affecting people far away from its original source. For example, windblown dust from desert regions of Africa, Mongolia, Central Asia and China can carry large concentrations of particulate matter, fungal spores and bacteria that impact health and air quality in remote areas. Therefore, global cooperation is needed to address international flows and sources of air pollutants, complementary to local and regional efforts in air pollution management.

Particulate matter (PM) are inhalable and respirable particles composed of sulphate, nitrates, ammonia, sodium chloride, black carbon, mineral dust and water. Particles with a diameter of less than 10 microns (PM10), including fine particles less than 2.5 microns (PM2.5) pose the greatest risks to health, as they are capable of penetrating peoples’ lungs and entering their bloodstream. Sources of PM include combustion engines (both diesel and petrol), solid-fuel (coal, lignite, heavy oil and biomass) combustion for energy production in households and industry, as well as other industrial activities (building, mining, manufacture of cement, ceramic and bricks, and smelting).

Ground-level ozone is one of the major components of photochemical smog and a key health risk linked to breathing problems, asthma, reduced lung function and respiratory diseases. It is a secondary pollutant, meaning that it is not directly emitted. Instead, it is produced when carbon monoxide (CO), methane, or other volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are oxidized in the presence of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sunlight. In addition to their role as ozone precursors, CO, VOCs and NOx are dangerous air pollutants themselves. Major sources of NOx and VOCs include emissions from motor vehicle exhaust, industrial facilities, and chemical solvents. Major sources of methane include waste and the fossil fuel and agricultural industry. Aside from its health impacts, tropospheric ozone is a short-lived climate pollutant and one of the most important greenhouse gases.

Nitrogen dioxide, mainly emitted by power generation, industrial and traffic sources, is an important constituent of particulate matter and ozone. There is growing evidence that independently, it can increase symptoms of bronchitis and asthma, as well as lead to respiratory infections and reduced lung function and growth. Evidence also suggests that NO2 may be responsible for a large disease burden, with exposure linked to premature mortality and morbidity from cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.

Sulfur dioxide ( SO2) is primarily produced from the burning of fossil fuels (coal and oil) and the smelting of mineral ores that contain sulphur. Exposure to SO2 affects the respiratory system and the function of the lungs, and causes irritation of the eyes. Inflammation of the respiratory tract from SO2 can aggravate asthma and chronic bronchitis, as well as increases the risk of infection, leading to increased hospital admissions and visits to emergency rooms. SO2 also combines with water in the air to form sulfuric acid - the main component of acid rain.

",201981211324.jpg,57,55,1,2019/8/12 11:40 1509,Gas leak detection,Gas leak detection,Gas leak detection,Gas leak detection,"  A gas detector is a device that detects the presence of gases in an area, often as part of a safety system. This type of equipment is used to detect a gas leak or other emissions and can interface with a control system so a process can be automatically shut down. A gas detector can sound an alarm to operators in the area where the leak is occurring, giving them the opportunity to leave. This type of device is important because there are many gases that can be harmful to organic life, such as humans or animals.
Gas detectors can be used to detect combustible, flammable and toxic gases, and oxygen depletion. This type of device is used widely in industry and can be found in locations, such as on oil rigs, to monitor manufacture processes and emerging technologies such as photovoltaic. They may be used in firefighting.
Gas detectors can be classified according to the operation mechanism (semiconductors, oxidation, catalytic, photoionization, infrared, etc.). Gas detectors come packaged into two main form factors: portable devices and fixed gas detectors.
Portable detectors are used to monitor the atmosphere around personnel and are either hand-held or worn on clothing or on a belt/harness. These gas detectors are usually battery operated. They transmit warnings via audible and visible signals, such as alarms and flashing lights, when dangerous levels of gas vapors are detected.

Fixed type gas detectors may be used for detection of one or more gas types. Fixed type detectors are generally mounted near the process area of a plant or control room, or an area to be protected, such as a residential bedroom. Generally, industrial sensors are installed on fixed type mild steel structures and a cable connects the detectors to a SCADA system for continuous monitoring. A tripping interlock can be activated for an emergency situation.

Ambient air monitoring is the systematic, long-term assessment of pollutant levels by measuring the quantity and types of certain pollutants in the surrounding, outdoor air.

Ambient air monitoring is an integral part of an effective air quality management system. Reasons to collect such data include to:

There are different methods to measure any given pollutant. A developer of a monitoring strategy should examine the options to determine which methods are most appropriate, taking into account the main uses of the data, initial investment costs for equipment, operating costs, reliability of systems, and ease of operation.

Systems are needed to ensure that data are of acceptable quality, to record and store the data, and to analyze the data and present results.

",201981617619.jpg,57,55,1,2019/8/16 17:26 1515,What should we pay attention to when using gas detectors?,What should we pay attention to when using gas detectors?,gas leak detector,What should we pay attention to when using gas detectors?,"

First of all, toxic and harmful gas detectors, like other analytical and detection instruments, are measured by comparative methods. First, the instrument is calibrated with a zero gas and a standard concentration of gas, and the standard curve is stored in the instrument. When measuring, the instrument will produce electrical signals from the concentration of the gas to be measured. Comparing with the electric signal of standard concentration, the accurate gas concentration value can be calculated. Therefore, it is indispensable to calibrate the instrument at any time and regularly to ensure the accuracy of the instrument measurement. It should be pointed out that many gas detectors can replace detection sensors at present, but this does not mean that a detector can be equipped with different detector probes at any time. Whenever the probe is replaced, besides the activation time of the sensor, the instrument must be calibrated again. It is suggested that the response test of standard gas should be carried out before various instruments are used to ensure that the instruments really play a protective role.

Secondly, attention should be paid to the detection interference among different sensors.
Generally speaking, each sensor corresponds to a specific detection gas, but any gas detector can not be absolutely special. When choosing a gas sensor, we should know as much as possible the interference of other gases to the sensor to ensure its accurate detection of specific gases.

Thirdly, pay attention to the lifetime of all kinds of sensors.
The life of the electrochemical sensor depends on the drying up of the electrolyte, so if it is not used for a long time, its sealing in a lower temperature environment can prolong the service life of the sensor. Because of the relatively large volume of the fixed instrument, the life of the sensor is also longer. Therefore, the sensor should be inspected at any time and used within the validity period of the sensor as far as possible. Once it fails, it should be replaced in time.

Finally, attention should be paid to the concentration measurement range of the instrument.
All kinds of toxic and harmful gas detectors have their fixed detection range. Only when the measurement is completed within its measuring range can the instrument be ensured to measure accurately. The sensor may be permanently damaged if it is measured over a long period of time.
For example, LEL detectors, if used carelessly in environments with more than 100% LEL, may completely destroy the sensors. Toxic gas detectors, which work for a long time at a higher concentration, can also cause damage. If a fixed instrument sends out an over-limit signal in use, the measuring circuit should be switched off immediately to ensure the safety of the sensor.

",2019819182046.jpg,57,55,1,2019/8/19 18:31 1518,What are the hazards of PM10?,What are the hazards of PM10?,What are the hazards of PM10?,What are the hazards of PM10?,"  As people's awareness of environmental protection increases, the concept of environmental pollution has penetrated into the homes of ordinary people. There are some specific understandings of some gas pollutants. Commonly, such as PM2.5, is a word that often appears in life, but in PM2. .5 Before the emergence of PM10, there are not many people who know, and often the main reason for air pollution is that PM2.5 is the main pollutant, ignoring the harmfulness of PM10, then the senior The air environment monitoring equipment manufacturer will answer you.
Let us first understand what PM10 is. PM10 is also a respirable particulate matter, mainly particles with a particle size below 10 microns, also known as respirable particulate matter or fly ash. Some studies have shown that the source of PM10 is mainly soil, accounting for about 21% of the total source, and has obvious seasonal and regional variability. For example, there are more soil sources in spring, and motor vehicle fuel emissions and coal pollution The ratio is higher in winter.
So what is the difference and difference between PM10 and PM2.5? The so-called PM10 is actually a particulate matter with a diameter less than or equal to 10 microns. PM2.5 is basically a kind of PM10. Just because PM2.5 is more harmful to the human body, it is listed separately for analysis and research. Control, governance. PM2.5 is mostly derived from fuel combustion and secondary particle formation, so the particle volume is small. The PM10 is mostly derived from the road Yang dust, so the particle volume is large, it is easy to settle in the air, the spread distance is relatively close, and it is easy to be intercepted by the upper airway mucosa and cilia.
However, the power of PM10 can not be underestimated. Like PM2.5, PM10 can also attach more harmful elements. Therefore, whether it is indoor or outdoor air quality testing, it is no longer possible to monitor only the PM2.5 single item value.

Since the current urban air pollution is still dominated by dust pollution, PM2.5 and PM10 are important components, and timely monitoring, prevention, and control can be said to be urgent. There is still a long way to go to regulate the air pollution particulate matter PM2.5 and PM10. We must prevent and control through technical means and strive to improve the living environment.

Our OC-9200 dust monitoring system used to detect the Particulate matter PM2.5 and PM10, TSP, Noise, Meteorological parameters (including of Temperature, Humidity, Wind speed, Wind direction, Barometric pressure ). Combined with industrial laser sensor technology and unique heating dehumidification compensation device, the influence of ambient temperature and humidity on the detection results of particulate matter is reduced.

",201982210843.jpg,57,55,1,2019/8/22 10:17 1525,The Importance of Combustion Gas Leak Detection,The Importance of Combustion Gas Leak Detection,The Importance of Combustion Gas Leak Detection,The Importance of Combustion Gas Leak Detection,"In recent years, combustible gas leak detection has grown in importance because of increased safety concerns, performances of products/systems, liability concerns, health concerns, and warranties.
Gas leak detection is a way of nondestructive testing of dangerous combustible gases from sealed components or systems. Leaks can easily result from poor seals and connections, as well as from inadequate welds. Slow gas leaks from small defects or vibrations can be dangerous, expensive, frustrating, time consuming, and a potential for sickness, death or explosions.

For years, contractors and other personnel used the OLD soap and water method which has been proven to be ineffective in detecting the precise location of particularly small gas leaks. Recently, gas leak detectors and gas sniffers have become much more popular and useful.

The Most Common Reasons for Gas Leak Detection are:
1. Protect Personnel and Property
Gas leaks can potentially create serious personnel hazards as well as destroy material and property.
2. Contamination and Safety
With stricter OSHA and environmental regulations, the reasons for gas leak detectors are growing.
3. Reliability
Equipment reliability has always been a major reason for gas leak detectors and gas sniffers.
4. Energy Loss
With the high cost of energy, losses are increasingly important. By gas leak detection, energy can be saved by conserving the amount of fuel used in a system such as natural gas or propane from leaking out.

Gas detection plays a very important role in the production of industrial enterprises. It is the key to prevent accidents and ensure the safe production of enterprises. It is the guarantee for the safety of production personnel and the surrounding people. Many accidents are often caused by the lack of supervision of gas, which can be avoided, but it eventually becomes an accident. It is really distressing. And we also hope that the majority of production companies can use this as a precept to improve gas detection and supervision, so that safety is always with you.

",2019828165053.jpg,57,55,1,2019/8/28 16:50 1526,The Effects of Climate Change,The Effects of Climate Change,The Effects of Climate Change,The Effects of Climate Change,"

Global climate change has already had observable effects on the environment. Glaciers have shrunk, ice on rivers and lakes is breaking up earlier, plant and animal ranges have shifted and trees are flowering sooner.

Effects that scientists had predicted in the past would result from global climate change are now occurring: loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, more intense heat waves.

Change Will Continue Through This Century and Beyond

Global climate is projected to continue to change over this century and beyond. The magnitude of climate change beyond the next few decades depends primarily on the amount of heat-trapping gases emitted globally, and how sensitive the Earth’s climate is to those emissions.

Temperatures Will Continue to Rise

Because human-induced warming is superimposed on a naturally varying climate, the temperature rise has not been, and will not be, uniform or smooth across the country or over time.

Frost-free Season (and Growing Season) will Lengthen

The length of the frost-free season (and the corresponding growing season) has been increasing nationally since the 1980s, with the largest increases occurring in the western United States, affecting ecosystems and agriculture. Across the United States, the growing season is projected to continue to lengthen.
In a future in which heat-trapping gas emissions continue to grow, increases of a month or more in the lengths of the frost-free and growing seasons are projected across most of the U.S. by the end of the century, with slightly smaller increases in the northern Great Plains. The largest increases in the frost-free season (more than eight weeks) are projected for the western U.S., particularly in high elevation and coastal areas. The increases will be considerably smaller if heat-trapping gas emissions are reduced.

Changes in Precipitation Patterns

Average U.S. precipitation has increased since 1900, but some areas have had increases greater than the national average, and some areas have had decreases. More winter and spring precipitation is projected for the northern United States, and less for the Southwest, over this century.
Projections of future climate over the U.S. suggest that the recent trend towards increased heavy precipitation events will continue. This trend is projected to occur even in regions where total precipitation is expected to decrease, such as the Southwest.

More Droughts and Heat Waves

Droughts in the Southwest and heat waves (periods of abnormally hot weather lasting days to weeks) everywhere are projected to become more intense, and cold waves less intense everywhere.
Summer temperatures are projected to continue rising, and a reduction of soil moisture, which exacerbates heat waves, is projected for much of the western and central U.S. in summer. By the end of this century, what have been once-in-20-year extreme heat days (one-day events) are projected to occur every two or three years over most of the nation.

Hurricanes Will Become Stronger and More Intense

The intensity, frequency and duration of North Atlantic hurricanes, as well as the frequency of the strongest (Category 4 and 5) hurricanes, have all increased since the early 1980s. The relative contributions of human and natural causes to these increases are still uncertain. Hurricane-associated storm intensity and rainfall rates are projected to increase as the climate continues to warm.

Sea Level Will Rise 1-4 feet by 2100

Global sea level has risen by about 8 inches since reliable record keeping began in 1880. It is projected to rise another 1 to 4 feet by 2100. This is the result of added water from melting land ice and the expansion of seawater as it warms.
In the next several decades, storm surges and high tides could combine with sea level rise and land subsidence to further increase flooding in many regions. Sea level rise will continue past 2100 because the oceans take a very long time to respond to warmer conditions at the Earth’s surface. Ocean waters will therefore continue to warm and sea level will continue to rise for many centuries at rates equal to or higher than those of the current century.

Arctic Likely to Become Ice-Free

The Arctic Ocean is expected to become essentially ice free in summer before mid-century.

",,57,55,1,2021/4/7 14:10 1560,Basic knowledge of PID sensor detectors,Basic knowledge of PID sensor detectors,,Basic knowledge of PID sensor detectors,"

3) Cooperate with pump-suction air intake, quick response and quick recovery;

① Halogenated hydrocarbons, thiohydrocarbons, unsaturated hydrocarbons (such as olefins) and so on.

② Aromatics: benzene, toluene, xylene (including o, m, p-xylene), naphthalene, etc.

③ Alcohols: methyl mercaptan, propylene alcohol, n-butanol, 2-butoxyethanol, etc.

④ Ketones and aldehydes: acetaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acetone, acrolein, etc.

⑤ Amines: dimethylamine, dimethylformamide, etc.

",,57,55,1,2021/4/8 15:59 1563,Do you know the Dangers of Oxygen Depletion?,Do you know the Dangers of Oxygen Depletion?,"Oxygen, gas detector system",Are you know the Dangers of Oxygen Depletion?,"

Oxygen deficiency can arise when inert gases such as nitrogen, helium, carbon dioxide and argon escape into the air, causing the oxygen level to be displaced. Not enough oxygen in the ambient air can be fatal, causing hypoxia (deprivation of adequate oxygen supply in the body). We explore the use of oxygen depletion monitors to learn how they'll protect you.

1.Properties

Oxygen (O2) content in the air is about 21%, in water 88.8%, and in the human body, it is about 65%.

2. Dangers

Incidents are more likely to occur at concentrations of 19% or lower. Depleted oxygen concentrations are not only deadly, but impair physical and mental ability leading to an increased risk of accidents and other physical problems.

3. Where is oxygen depletion likely to happen?

Common occurrences are particularly on sites where air stagnates due to lack of airflow or do not have proper ventilation. Oxygen depletion is a common occurrence in:

> Research and development laboratories requiring the use of toxic and inert gases

> Manholes and sewer pipes/conduits

> Workshop pits

> Storage tanks and silos

> Warehouses

> Ship holds or galleys

> Industrial facilities that use argon or other shield gases for welding

> Diving supply shops that mix gases to refill SCUBA tanks

4. Symptoms

The lower the concentration of oxygen, the more detrimental the effects and symptoms will be on the body. Oxygen depletion on the human body will vary. At 19% people may suffer some physiological effects, but it may not be noticeable;

while a drop to 12-15% is enough to cause poor judgement, faulty coordination, abnormal fatigue and emotional upset. If oxygen levels remain low, sudden unconsciousness or death without symptoms may occur.

5. What actions should be taken to stay safe?

Oxygen risks can be measured using various fixed and portable gas detecting products, all designed for a specific purpose;

Continuous Monitoring Oxygen Depletion Systems

Oxygen monitors can be used as part of a system and are fixed in place to provide a warning when the oxygen level drops close to an unsafe level.

A safe entry system includes a sounder/traffic light system to indicate that the room is safe to enter. Inside the room, gas detectors are installed in locations where there is likely to be a leak or where gases could potentially build-up.

The oxygen monitor alarm has both audible and visual alarms. Built-in relays trigger and control an exhaust fan or ventilation system.

OC-F08 Fixed Gas Detector

OC-8000 system for ventilation and exhaust scheme

In laboratories and confined space applications, Oxygen Depletion Monitoring Systems are designed to protect the health of people working near storage areas and sub ground levels where inert gases could potentially build up causing oxygen to be displaced.

The application conditions will determine the number (size or area) and type of detectors needed (safe-area, ATEX zone, IP rating or housing protective material).

Portable Oxygen Detector

In areas such as confined space applications where oxygen depletion may cause personal harm or asphyxiation, it is recommended that maintenance workers wear a portable oxygen detector attached to their clothes - ideally in the breathing zone. It gives an audible and visual alarm if the atmospheric oxygen content is likely to deviate more than 2% from that of normal breathing air.

",,57,55,1,2021/4/13 14:58 1610,Common Toxic Gases,Common Toxic Gases,"gas detector, fixed gas detector",Common Toxic Gases,"

The common toxic gases are oxygen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, formaldehyde, ozone, nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, Tetrahydrothiophene and so on. According to the harm to the human body, toxic gases can be divided into nerve paralysis gas, respiratory system paralysis gas and muscle paralysis gas; According to the principle of injury to the human body, irritant gas and asphyxiating gas can be considered.

Irritant gas: it refers to the gas that has an irritant effect on eyes and respiratory tract mucosa. It is a toxic gas often encountered in the chemical industry. There are many kinds of irritant gases, the most common are chlorine, ammonia, nitrogen oxides, phosgene (commonly used with insecticides), hydrogen fluoride (mainly used as the raw material of fluorine-containing compounds), sulfur dioxide (used as organic solvents and refrigerants, and used to refine various lubricating oils), sulfur trioxide and dimethyl sulfate, etc.

Asphyxiating gas: refers to the toxic gas that can cause hypoxia. Asphyxiating gas can be divided into simple asphyxiating gas, blood asphyxiating gas and cell asphyxiating gas. Such as nitrogen, methane, ethane, ethylene, carbon monoxide, nitro.

The toxic reactions were dizziness, nausea, vomiting, coma, and some poisonous gases caused skin ulceration and tracheal mucosa ulceration. The state of deep poisoning is shocking, even death. At the same time, it is also used in the fields of insecticides, various chemicals, and so on.

OC-F08 gas detector: it is used to detect poisonous gas in the surrounding atmosphere and play the role of safety warning. The toxic gas detector samples the electrical signal on the sensor, and after internal data processing, outputs 4 ~ 20mA signal output or RS485 signal output corresponding to the ambient gas concentration, using industrial-grade imported sensors, so as to meet the application and installation needs of users on site.

What is toxic gas? The toxic chemicals that are gaseous or very volatile under normal temperature and pressure. It comes from industrial pollution, combustion of coal and oil, and decomposition of biological materials. It can stimulate the respiratory tract and easily inhale toxic gases. The toxic gases absorbed by the human body will produce a variety of chemical changes in the body, which is called the metabolism of toxic gases in the body, also known as the transformation of toxic gases. The fixed toxic gas detector adopts an imported electrochemical sensor, with high sensitivity, sound, and light alarm to remind the field personnel to stay away from the danger of toxic gas, which is widely used in all kinds of petroleum, petrochemical, and chemical production unit areas; Municipal, fire, gas, telecommunications, coal, metallurgy, electric power, medicine, food processing and other places with toxic and harmful gases.

OC-F08 Fixed toxic gas detector

Whether the fixed toxic gas detector and the system can work well or not, it is necessary to be strict at all times to cope with emergencies, and maintenance is the key. If the detector and system exceed the maintenance time or do not maintain, debug or calibrate for a long time, it may lead to inaccurate measurement accuracy, performance degradation and other problems, and even lead to false alarm, false alarm or no alarm.

Maintenance guide for stationary toxic gas detector

1. Regular calibration, testing and inspection should be carried out for the maintenance of detector. Generally, the calibration frequency is once a year;

2. During installation, the detector should not be close to the wall, and enough space should be reserved around it for routine maintenance and troubleshooting;

3. Keep the detector clean and dry. Wipe the machine surface with a soft wet cloth;

4. Keep the filter screen of the sensor clean, use a soft and clean brush to clean the surface dirt, wipe it with warm water, and cover it again after the filter screen is dry;

5. When cleaning the sensor, only use a clean brush to clean the sensor, do not use water for cleaning;

6. The sensor is the heart of the detector. To make the heart ""beat"" stably for a long time, it is necessary to avoid exposing the sensor to the odor produced by inorganic or organic solvents to reduce the sensor's service life and detection accuracy.

7. In case of failure, don't disassemble and repair by yourself. Please feed back the problem to our team as soon as possible, and our engineers will provide perfect solutions.

",202152494838.jpg,57,55,1,2021/5/24 9:48 1785,Why choose PID (Photoionization Detector) sensor?,Why choose PID (Photoionization Detector) sensor?,,,"

PID (Photoionization Detector) sensors, as the name suggests, use light to ionize gas molecules, producing a measurable electrical current that can be converted into a gas concentration reading. They are commonly used in gas detectors, environmental monitoring, and industrial safety applications.

PID sensors are capable of detecting a wide range of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are organic chemicals that easily vaporize at room temperature. These include fuels, solvents, paints, and many other chemicals. The sensitivity of the sensor depends on the energy of the ionizing light and the ionization potential of the gas. Some common VOCs that PID sensors can detect include benzene, toluene, xylene, formaldehyde, and hydrogen sulfide.

There are several reasons why PID sensors are preferred over other gas sensing technologies in certain applications. Firstly, they are highly sensitive and selective to VOCs, which are often the most dangerous and abundant gases present in industrial settings. Secondly, they can detect gases at low concentrations, making them useful for leak detection and other safety applications. Thirdly, they can be used in harsh environments, where other sensors may fail due to temperature, humidity, or other factors.

PID sensors are often compared to chemical sensors, which use a chemical reaction to produce a measurable response to a gas. However, there are several key differences between the two technologies. Firstly, PID sensors are non-specific, meaning they cannot identify a specific gas or chemical. They simply measure the concentration of any gas that ionizes in the detector. Chemical sensors, on the other hand, are selective and can be calibrated to respond to specific gases or chemical compounds. Secondly, PID sensors respond to gases that ionize at low energies, whereas chemical sensors require a specific chemical reaction to produce a response. Lastly, PID sensors are generally more expensive and require more maintenance than chemical sensors.

While they are more expensive than chemical sensors, they are often preferred in applications where their unique capabilities are necessary.Whether OCEANUS's products are gas measurement device or fixed gas monitor, different gas sensors can be customized according to your needs.
